Times -Advocate, June 14,1995 • Page 9 Poster contest planned HAY - Hay Days '96 is sponsoring a poster contest within the schools of Hensall and Zurich to be displayed at the local fairs. Hensall school children had 57 posters for public viewing this past weekend. The children's artwork depicted life in Hay Twp. 150 years ago. Winners in grade 1 to 3 class were Jessica Schutz, Timmy Hay, Scott Keys and Danielle Ritchie. Grade 4 to 6 class winners were David Huston, Denise Ritchie, Katie Schutz and Tristalyn Russell. Grade 7 and 8 winner was Matthew M. All children who participated in the poster contest will receive a Hay Days '96 pen and the winners will re- ceive cash prizes. Hay Days '96 promotional committee thank all students for participat- ing. The sesquicentennial posters will be showing up in store windows around Hensall. Great response has been given to the request for the B.B.Q. and auc- tion to be held July 12. We are still needing unique hand crafts like knitting, crocheting, agricultural products and baked goods. Are there articles of Hay Twp. heritage in good condition? This is an event that everyone can become involved in. Everyone loves an auction. See you there. • Rebekah's celebrate birthday EXETER - Pride of Huron Rebe- kah Lodge #338 celebrated their 48th birthday Wednesday evening, Sister Jan Jeffery led in a ceremony honouring out Charter members, Past District Deputies, Past Noble Grands, Present Officers and all members who come faithfully each meeting and help with the work of our lodge.
