Science Quest
Over 1,000 public school stu-
dents visited South Huron
District High School's Science
Quest last Wednesday. The
SHDHS student's effort to
make science interesting and
give pubic school students
hands-on experience was very
successful. Pictured above

Drop -In set
for June 15

HENSALL - The Hensall Com-
munity Drop -In is set for June 15 at.
'Hensall United Church.
Activities include: foot care at 10
a.m., noon lunch, entertainment by
Hensall Public School, and Alma
Langford will be the guest speaker
on Spirituality. Cards and public
health consultation will follow.
Cost is $4.00 per person for the
meal and program. Reserve by

Presbyterian church
Rev. Sabrina Caldwell will con-
duct the Communion service at
Carmel Presbyterian Church, on
June 11.
United church
Rev. Henry Annen conducted the
service at Hensall United Church,
this past Sunday. Doug Klopp was
the organist. The Children's Story
was "God is Here".
The following young people
were confirmed: Dawn Corbett,
Gerald Corbett, Jason Corbett,
Becky Corbett, Jay Mallette, Kim
Taylor and Amy Wood.
Rev. Annen's message was "A
Living Witness". The congregation
then celebrated Holy Communion
Special music was provided by a
trio. The pianist was Julie Darling,
the greeter was Janie Bisback, and
the ushers were Mark Consitt and
Dave Collins.
June 25 will be the Promotions'
and Family Picnic and June 21 is
the official board meeting.
Personals
The sympathy of the community
goes to the family of the late James
Mustard.
Best wishes go to Dianne Ger-
stenkorn who has moved to Formo-
sa, after living in Hensall for 22
years. She welcomes all her friends
and family to drop in when they
are in the area.

Bus trip taken to
Crossroads pillage

took in the bus trip to Crossroads
Village and Huckleberry Railroad
in Flint, Michigan on Monday,
May 29. Supper was enjoyed on the
way home in Port Huron at the
Sveden House.
Beef barbecue
Several Granton people enjoyed
the beef barbecue at the Denfield
Community Park on Saturday eve-
ning, June 3.
Anniversary service
There was no service at the St.
Thomas' Anglican Church on Sun-
day, June 4 but some from the con-
gregation attended the anniversary
service at St. Paul's Church, Kirk -
ton. Rev. Stephen Emery's message
was about running out of some dep-
rivation of the spirit, not forgiving,
and the acceptance of God's uncon-
ditional love.
Service time June 11 at Granton
is 8:30 a.m. with the Rev. Stan Jay
officiating.
Bible Study
The Anglican parish bible study
group met at the rectory in Kirkton
on Wednesday, May 31.
ACW
The St. Thomas' A.C.W. met at
the home of Velma Hodgins in St.
Marys on Thursday night, June I.
Cco-ordinator Cathie Westman
chaired the meeting when arrange-
ments were made for a time of fel-
lowship following the 4:30 p.m.
closing service on June 18.
Irene Roloson passed around in-
spirational fridge magnets she had
made for each member and a
friendly atmosphere pervaded
while they enjoyed Velma's hospi-
tality.

At the Granton United Church on
Pentecost Sunday, Pastor Normalie
Voakes' sermon was about 'A
Pentecost People'. "My Tribute to
God be the Glory" was sung by the
choir.
UCW
Unit one of the UCW met June I
at. Audrey Harloff's home in Mitch-
ell beginning with a noon luncheon
served on the patio. Leader Doreen
McRobert opened the meeting with
the lesson thoughts on 'Prepare for
Graduation' based on 1st Peter 3
verse 4, concluding with a reading
from Daily Bread about beautiful
people.
The roll call was answered by 10
members, each contributing a read-
ing. Business discussion included
plans for the pork supper on June
21, arrangements for the next meet-
ing in September and flowers in
the church.
Audrey Westman continued with
the program reading an article 'Our
road together' about one of the
Lennon sisters.
