Forthcoming marriage - Mrs. Marion Skinner of Exeter is pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Barbara Jean to Roble Lee Harnack, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Harnack of Owen Sound. Their wed- ding will take place at Elim- ville United Church on Friday, June 2, 1995 at 7 p.m. Re- ception to follow at the Exet- er Recreation Centre in Exet- er. Spring fashions are modelled GRAND BEND - Over 100 Grand Bend Golden Agers met May 3, for the monthly luncheon meeting. After the meeting the group was entertained by Shirley Platt and six models, who present- ed a sample of spring and summer fashions from Katy's Closet. Dave Sheppard provided the mu- sic during the lunch and fashion show. Next meeting is June 7, which will be a potluck luncheon and si- lent auction. This will be held at the Lion Pavilion. Spring fever catches Blue Water residents ZURICH - On Mother's Day, the folks at Blue Water Rest Home were abuzz as family members, came for their parent's special day. The rooms took on a new look with all the fresh flowers arriving - a treat after the winter season. Rev. Gani Lazaro, Zurich United Church held Bible Study on Tues- day afternoon. Pastor Ross Thompson, St. Pe- ter's Lutheran Church, Zurich con- ducted Thursday afternoon chapel service. Father Matthias Wronski, St. Bonifacc Church, Zurich cele- brated Mass. Friday afternoon, the residents caught spring fever and ventured off to Arkona to look at the cherry trees in blossom. Clara Hamilton, Susan Leslie, Rose Merner, Pearl Miller, Esther Makins, Ruby Bell and Kurt Gebel enjoyed their outing into the country and down along the lake. Our condolences to the family and friends of the late Oscar Isaac Edwin Miller who passed away at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on May 17 in his 90th year. Miller came to the Home in April from the Dashwood arca and was just getting reacquainted with many of his for- mer colleagues. The residents look forward to a birthday party on May 23 with members of Bayfield Anglican Church. The Resident/Family • Annual Summer Dinner is scheduled for Sunday, June 25 with entertainment at 3:00 p.m. and dinner sitting from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. Recovering LONDON -Long-time Exeter resi- dent Elmer Bell is recovering from kl i;ip injury at St. Joseph's Hospital. PA MTTY Queensway residents prepare for yard sale HENSALL - It has been a busy week at Queensway. Residents and staff are busy preparing for the upcoming yard sale. Last Saturday afternoon a number of volunteers and residents made cor- sages for every lady at Queensway in honour of Mothers Day. Sunday morning each lady had her corsage pinned on while preparing for our an- nual "Mothers Day Tea." Many families and friends were in to partake in the tea. It was a fun day for everyone. Monday afternoon the Hensall United Church women joined us for bin- go. While some played bingo others were outside replanting garlic and chives. Reverend VerHaag was the minister for the weekly church service. Thanks to Rev. and Mrs. Ver Haag for joining us for church. Immediately following church Phil Cornish of the Family Coalition Party came to speak to residents. Paul Klopp was also in to speak to residents on May 11. Later in the day several residents gathered for supper club. They enjoyed a sampling of beef and turkey pot pies, steamed cauliflower and strawberry/rhubarb pie with ice cream. All day Thursday Geri Fashions visited from London. In the afternoon residents gathered to see the fashion show of new spring fashions. Models were Emma Campbell, Elva Forrest, Mary Davies; Ruth Church, Muriel Gunning and Mary Ellen Groves. Winners of the door prizes were: 1st prize, mens pyjamas Homer Taylor, 2nd, gold heart necklace, Mary Davis, 3rd, hosiery, Emma Campbell. May 27, all day Hen - sail yard sale. Communitytyard sale Response was excellent to the weekend community yard sale held at the Stanley township complex in Varna. Letters and seeds organized It was the church's 135th anniversary. H. Davis SAINTSBURY - St. Patrick's celebrated their 135th anniversary on May 21. The service of Holy Communion was opened with the processional hymn "All people that on earth do dwell". Rev: Stephen Emery, for his chil- dren's focus and message talked about the promise from Jesus send- , ing the Holy Spirit to be with us as helper, comforter and best friend and one who hears our cry. The children went to their classes following the hymn 'Morning has broken". The Sunday School lesson was about 'Jesus and the children.' It was also a time of getting letters and packages of seeds ready to be mailed to Roberts Obur-Larie, Rt. Rev. Gideon Oboma and Rev. Sam Obol and families of Uganda. Margaret Carroll was reader for the service. Altar flowers and bas- kets of flowers were given in lov- ing memory of the late Heber Da- vis, Almarie Davis Young and Marguerite Davis Greenlee by Mary Davis and family. St. Paul's anniversary On June 4, St. Paul's, Kirkton will celebrate their anniversary at 10:00 a.m. Personal Wednesday afternoon visitors with Mary Davis following lunch at the restaurant were cousins Greta Gibson, Mabel Needham, Gladys Davis, Elva Godbolt and Maxine Stone.
