Many faiths celebrate community life
A 50 -voice choir pre-'
sented music at the
evening service.

ZURICH - The 'spiritual celebra-
tion of community life' held at the
Zurich Mennonite Church on Sun-
day was a big success, with good
attendance at the various activities
throughout the day.
Members from all the different
faiths in the village attended the
worship service held in the eve-
ning.
Special speaker was Rev. Vern
Cronmiller Chris Eagleson con-
ducted a 50 -voice choir.
A free will offering was collected
that will be sent to the Canadian
Foodgrains Bank.

First Communion individually at
the Masses on Sunday, May 7 with
Fr. Wronski.
Those making their First Com-
munion at St. Peter's Parish, St. Jo-
seph, with Fr. Morris recently were
Corey Ducharme, Jenna DeGroot,
Danny Miller, Ryan Denomme,
Thomas Genoch and Kyle Payne.
The group communion will be
held at St. Boniface Church on
Sunday, June 4 at the 9:00 a.m.
Mass.
St. Boniface church
The K. of C. will be sponsoring a
communion breakfast following the
Masses on Sunday, May 14 for
Mother's Day. Cost will be $3.00
per person or $10.00 per family at
St. Boniface Parish Hall. Tickets at
the door.
Confirmation for grade seven and
eight students will be held at St.
Boniface Church at the 7:30 p.m.
Mass on Saturday evening May 13.

Mother's Day Tea
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Blue
Water Rest Home will be having
their annual Mother's Day Tea and
Bake Sale at the Home on May 13
from 2 to 3:30 p.m. There will be
cake and quilt draws as well as the
residents' craft table and outside
craft tables.
Senior Diners
Fifty Senior Diners were treated
to a delicious pork dinner May 3 at
the community centre. Annie Fink-
beiner was the 50/50 winner. A
thank you card from Faye Skinner
was read by Gertie Fleischauer,
thanking the diners for the farewell
gifts she received recently. A
poem, "A May Day Song", was
read by Tammy Antaya. Card bin-
go was enjoyed by all, followed by
progressive euchre. Winners were:
High, Phyllis Deichert; Low, Leila
Becker; and Lone hands, Annie
Finkbeiner.

The Nifty Needlers had their last
meeting at the home of Sylvia
Neeb on May 1. The group had a
pizza party and finished their extra
craft.
NDP event
Premier Bob Rae and Elmer Bu-
chanan, minister of Agricultural
Food and Rural Affairs, travelled
to Bayfield on Tuesday where they
were guests of honour at the Town
Hall. The event was hosted by Hu-
ron New Democrat candidate
M.P.P. Paul Klopp.

anniversary on Sunday, May 7 with

spent a few days at the home of his
sister-in-law Marie and Mozart Ge-
linas Sr. and they all attended the
wedding of Tara Sweeney to Kevin
MacLean on May 6 in London at
St. Andrew's United Church. Also
attending were Jerome and Carmel
Sweeney and Butch Sweeney from
the Zurich area.
A bridal shower was held for
Keltie MacNeill on May 6 at the
Dashwood Community Centre. She
is the fiance of Jeff Keller, son of
George and Elaine. They are plan-
ning to be married on May 27.
Happy birthday wishes go to
Heather Klopp on May 10; to Ke-
vin Geoffrey on May 8 and Stacey
Overholt on May 12. Nicole Sou -
dant and M;ureen Regier each cel-
ebrated their birthday on May 7.
Congratulations to Chuck and

A surprise 50th birthday party
was held for Alice -Ann Masse on
Saturday at their new home on

and Roman Meidinger, who all
passed away recently.
