knowledging the many blessings
that are bestowed upon us so faith-
fully.
The Young Adult Group met on
Thursday night at the gym for
some exercise and fellowship.
A meeting of the Youth Group
to plan activities and share fund
raising ideas for the building was
held at the Swances home on Sat-
urday night. The youth are plan-
ning to attend the Billy Graham
Crusade on June 10 at the Sky -
dome and have extended an open
invitation to everyone to join
them.
The Sunday Schools annual
"Outreach Family Banquet" on
Friday night will be held at the
Centralia Hall. Please contact Ca-
thy Prout at 235-2879 if you are at-
tending. This years guest will be
Jason Harris who will be bringing
his trumpet along. The girls in
Wednesday nights lost and found
group have been busy the past
couple of weeks making the table
centerpieces for this special eve-
ning. Bring the whole family for.
some good homecooked cooking.
Saturday night is Pizza and Vid-
eo night at Youth for Christ in the
school at Brucefield. This will be
the final quiz meet until Septem-
ber. Go Faithwalkers!!
Dale and Brenda Sweitzer along
with their son Michael ministered
in word and song on Sunday eve-
ning. Dale and Brenda operate
their own recording studio and are
in full time gospel music ministry.
Eight year old Michael who has
been playing the drums since he
was three, always enjoys his turn
to play along with mom and dad.

Community Players are to be com-
mended on the excellent production
of "Brigadoon' which several from
the Granton area have attended.
ACW conference

held on Saturday, April 29 at St.
.Paul's Cathedral in Londob"'Mhen
the focus theme was Personal
Christian Service.
Bible study
The Anglican parish bible study
group met at the rectory in Kirkton
on Wednesday, April 26 to contin-
ue with the book of John.
Church services
At the St. Thomas' Anglican
Church on Sunday, April 309 the
Rev. Stephen Emery led the service
of morning prayer. His message
was about having a vision of what
is important, seeing the truth of
one's existence and striving to
grow in Christ daily. Service time
next Sunday is 11 a.m.
At the Granton United Church on
Sunday, Pastor Normalie Voakes
sermon was entitled 'Once upon a
time'. The anthem by the choir was
'Amazing Grace.'
4-H
The Granton 4-H club gathered
at leader Margaret Bryan's home
on Wednesday, April 26 for their
fifth meeting when they talked
about body energizers. They also
discussed achievement night and
later Debbie Thompson from
'Weekender' arrived to get their
sizes and preferred colours.
They divided into two teams and
took a calorie test which was won
by team two. The group went to the
basement to sort food cards into the
categories grow, glow and go, in a
relay race. While there, they en-
joyed taking turns on the mini -
trampoline, skipping and playing
ping pong. Finally they closed the
meeting and Krystal Harrigan and
Susan Bryan served snacks. Gem-
ma Vandenburg was the secretary
and reporter.

President Shirley Platt was pre-
sented with a hand-crafted quilt by
Ithe Sauble Court Quilters. This
beautiful quilt, with a heart pattern,
will be raffled during the Play-
house season, on display at the
Farmhouse Gift Shop. A Royal
Doulton figurine donated by
Pougues of Strathroy, was also on
display for members. Tickets for
both are now on sale, with the win-
ning tickets to be drawn late in the
summer. Platt thanked all the mem-
bers and the Sauble Court quitters
for their generous donation of time
and talent.
Max Reimer, Artistic Director
for the Playhouse, thanked mem-
bers of the Guild for their donation
of $5,000 to finance a project on
the history of the Playhouse. Guild
members are sorting through the
Archives to assemble sets of dis-
plays, one for each play performed
this summer. Playhouse staff will
provide the carpentry and installa-
tion work. Reimer conveyed the
thanks of the HCP Board of Direc-
tors, who greeted the idea of the
historical project with great enthu-
siasm, particularly since 1996 will
be the 25th season for the Play-
house, a great milestone.
Guild president Shirley Platt then
presented Max Rimer with a
cheque for $5,000 for a new public
address system for the Playhouse.
Reimer was glad to he able to add a
P.A. system to upgrade the safety
standards at the theatre, and im-
prove general communications.
