Direct correspondence and/or questions to Chris Skaikos T -A Sports Department SHDHS students travel to London LONDON - Six SHDHS students travelled to London Saturday to participate in the Forest City Prep 200 South Huron Track and Field Meet. Over 100 schools sent their finest athletes to test their speed, strength and stamina at the J.W. Little Sta- dium and the six young athletes from Exeter left their mark before the day was over. Miranda Hayter ran the 100 me- ter sprint and had a very good per- formance in her heat. She also re- corded a personal best 3.38 metre long jump. Jessica Verhoog. also landed at the 3.41 meter mark in the Long Jump and Brian Huxtable jumped an impressive 4.56 meters. In the discus event Doug Rimmer faulted but threw his disc an in- credible 30 meters. Christian Stuckless threw in the discuss event and recorded a 26.08 meter throw. Stuckless also ran the 1500 meter in a quick 4:35 and placed within the top ten in his category. High jumper, Jason Becker re- corded a personal best clearing the bar at 1.60 meters. In an other at- tempt Becker tried to exceed his last jump by clearing 1.65 meters but came up a little short. Coach Jeffrey Orman said that the athletes did very well con- sidering the number and high cal- ibre athletes they had to compete with.
