Two local boys attend hockey camp
EXETER - Dave Farquhar and
Geoff Maver have recently re-
turned from the under 17 hockey
camp in Windsor.
Each minor hockey association
was invited to submit the names
and statistics of their best players
and five different regions partici-
pated sending 6g players under
the age of 16 to the camp.
The players go through a series
of training camps where eventual-
ly 30 of the best will be chosen to
merge with junior players and
have a shot of playing for team
Ontario at the next Canada Winter
Games.
Bill Farquhar said in the past,
hockey players from our arca
had a difficult time getting
picked at the camp because they
were going up against "AAA'
players. When asked how Dave
Farquhar and Geoff Mayer did at
the camp compared to the other
players, Farquhar commented:
"They didn't look out of place."
