The Vitamin C content of the orange is main-
tained very well in the unpeeled orange. After
juicing and kept cool, the orlange still holds its
vitamin content well if you keep the juice in a
tightly -closed container. If exposed to the air for long periods of
time, the nutritional content does go down.
While we are talking about food, a recent article in the Intema-
tion Journal of Cancer talked about tomatoes being an anti-
cancer food. The theory is a chemical called lycopene, an antioxi-
dant, may be the substance with this beneficial effect. Pass the
spaghetti sauce, please!
Those pressurized "metered -dose inhalers" for asthma contain
CFC's (chlorofluorocarbons) as propellants to push the medica-
tion out of the inhaler. CFC's are not ecologically friendly. A new
inhaler will be released in 1996. It is called the "Airomir" system
and has no effect on the ozone layer, says the manufacturer.
