Exeter - Local martial arts students are putting Ex-
eter on the map.
The students of Sai Visouvath's Precious Blood
School of Tae Kwon Do walked away with twelve
medals after competing in the Ontario Provincial Tac
Kwon Do Championships in Mississauga on March
26.
Six gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals were award-
ed to the students after the tournament which featured
900 competitors from across Ontario.
Many of the school's students sparred against part-
ners that have never heard of Exeter before, but after
the tournament was over, everyone knew Exeter was
where most of the medals were going. The Canadian
National Tae Kwon Do coach and the president of the
International Tae Kwon Do Association personally
congratulated Visouvath and his students for a highly
successful outcome.
Last June, Tac Kwon Do was the only martial art
that will be officially recognized as a sport in the year
2000 Olympics in Australia and Visouvath hopes to
be sending a couple of Olympians there.
The medal winners are (from left to right), back row, Adam Rathwell, Michael Johnston, Col-
n Grasdahl and Travis Davis. Front Row, doing the splits, Robert Khamsouk,William Bou-
lom, Andrew Bannister, Eddy Phimphrachanh and Robert Hoang (doing the splits). Absent
