"See you April 7, 8 & 911)" Through this one fund raiser alone we have been able to contribute over a quarter million dollars into youth and community serving projects in Exeter and the surrounding area. We wish to express special thanks to the founder of our show, Mr. Dirk Coolman, our dedicated members, to all of our exhibitors and you, the patrons and area merchants for your support. We look forward to seeing you once again at the '95 Exeter Optimists Home and Garden show for another enjoyable and successful community event. If you are a man or woman who is interested in more information about becoming a member of the Exeter Optimist Club please drop by the Optimist booth at the show, call the Optimist Hotline at 235- 2443 (and leave message)or call any Optimist member pictured below. Yours in Optimism, Mark Heimrich, President '94-'95. Peter Hrudka, Chairman -Home and Garden Committee WHAT IS AN OPTIMIST CLUB? A group of concerned men and women representing a cross-section , of the community, who recognize their civicc responsibilities and join together voluntarily in action for the good of the community. WHAT DOES THE OPTIMIST CLUB DO? 'Whatever needs doing in the community" each club determines for itself the projects it will become involved in. WHAT WILL YOU GET OUT OF JOINING AN OPTIMIST CLUB An opportunity to serve the youth and community in which you live. An opportunity to meet other civic minded men and women. Self development in leadership and personal growth. Fellowship and social contacts with people in your community. Business contacts. TIME COMMITMENT? There are no minimum requirements for time commitment from any member. A suggested guideline would be, assist with two projects in the first year of operation. Attend club meetings whenever possible. FEES? Each person that joins an OPTIMIST CLUB, pays a one time only initiation fee of $30. Each member pays yearly dues (Dues are set by club itself -'94 -'95 dues are $20.00, subsidized by the club) The yearly dues cover the administration costs of the club. We feel that your contribution of your time is the important one. c omOdlOut#11 To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something in • them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best and expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large tor worry, too noble for anger, too, strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble; Optimist IAterhaiional® • OPTIMIST CLUB OF EXETER AND AREA Charter Members Tom Bowen, Herb L.
