met at the Home on March 7. There was a good atten-
dance in spite of the ice storm that night.
Seventeen women from the Seaforth Harmony Hi-
Lites Barbershop group entertained the residents and
Auxiliary.
Two of the group were Mary -Lou Erb and Cathy
Shantz from Zurich.
Following lunch the meeting was chaired by Donna
Klopp.
Another quilt is being put together soon in the apart-
ment common room at the Home.
The Birthday party will be held on March 22 by St.
Peter's C.W.L., St. Joseph parish.
Two aprons were brought in for the apron wheel. If
you have any to donate (handmade ones), phone Marie
Gelinas Sr. at 236-4981.
Plans were discussed for the upcoming Mother's
Day tea, bake sale and craft show to be held in the au-
ditorium and front lobby on May 13 from 2 to 3:30
p.m.
Sympathy and birthday cards were sent out by Verda
Baechler while Gertie Fleischauer brought fresh flow-
ers to new residents.
New ideas were discussed of running the tuck shop
and adding different gifts that visitors to the home
might like to purchase for residents.
Children's books are now available for visitors to use
from the tuck shop to keep them busy while mom is
visiting at the rest homy•.
The next Auxiliary meeting will be on Tuesday,
April 4.
If anyone has news for the paper next week, would
they please bring it into the office before noon on
Monday as I will be away on holidays.
Personals
Rene Sweeney is spending the week in Kitchener
visiting with friends Missy McDonald and family.
Eugene and Shirley O'Brien recently spent a week in
Georgia along with friends from Fort Erie and went to
many interesting places.
Victor and Irene Hartman spent the weekend in
Windsor and attended the 25th wedding anniversary
celebration on Sunday for relatives on Irene's side of
the family.
Happy birthday wishes to Jean Armstrong on March
10; Sharon Silverstein, London, on March 15; and
Christina Erb (10 years old) on March 21.
Congratulations to Natalie and John Mason, Dash-
wood, who celebrated their 20th anniversary on Febru-
ary 28.

Free family skating
during March break
The Zurich Optimists are sponsor-
ing the free skate.

ZURICH - The Zurich Optimist Club are sponsoring
free family skating on March 22 from 2-4 p.m., which
includes hot chocolate and popcorn.
Barbershop show
The Seaforth Harmony Kings will be presenting their
annual Barbershop Show at the High School in Sea -
forth on Saturday, April 8 with two performances at
1:59 and 7:59 p.m.
Tickets cost 58.00 for adults and students $4.00
"The Homecoming" will be the theme and special
guest quartet singers are The King Pins along with the
Harmony Hi-Lites.
You can get your tickets early from Don Gingerich
at 236-4852 or Bill Gibson at 236-2102.
Stamping
The art of rubber stamping will be taught to children
between the ages of eight and 12 on March 25 from
1:30 to 3:30. For more information phone Bonnie
Schenk at 236-4691.
Day of reflection
Several C.W.L. women from St. Boniface, Exeter
and St. Peter's, St. Joseph, enjoyed a spiritual day of
reflection held in the parish hall and church last Tues-
day. They were led in prayer and talks by pastor Fr.
Wronksi, who also celebrated his 28th year of priest-
hood March 11.
Hockey tournament
A peewee hockey tournament took place on the
weekend at the arena.
Fair board meeting
The next fair board meeting of the Agricultural Soci-
ety will be held at the township hall on March 16 be-
ginning at 8 p.m.
A report on the recent convention in Toronto will be
given.
Girl's Club
The next Girl's Club meeting is set for Thursday af-
ternoon, March 6, in the form of a skating party at the
Zurich Arena.
Parent/Community meeting
A parent/community council meeting will be held on
March 29 in the gym beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Sandra Shaw -Young was appointed to serve as coun-
cil chair. Plans for playground restoration will be dis-
cussed that night.
Ladies Auxiliary
A spring break for families
of Crediton United Church
CREDITON -If you are a mem-
ber of Zion United Church in Cre-
diton or a friend of the congrega-
tion, here's your chance to get the
winter doldrums out of your sys-
tem.
At 6.30 p.m. on Friday night,
March 17, everyone is invited to
the church to participate in a pot
luck supper and lots of friendly
chatter. Parents or guardians are
asked to bring their children along
to make it a real fun family night.
There could be a surprise or two
for anyone wearing something
green to commemorate St. Patrick's
Day or using the St. Patrick's theme
to any degree.
Jim and Dorothy Chapman will
be in attendance to show slides re-
garding their current project which
is "Sleeping Children Around the
World" where bed kits are provided
for children in Thailand and other
underprivileged countries. The

HENSALL - The members of the
Volunteer Auxiliary of Queensway
Nursing Home met Monday morn-
ing to discuss upcoming events for
the month of March. For the entire
month, the Hensall Legion Ladies
Auxiliary is sponsoring the Mon-
day afternoon bingos.
On Tuesday afternoon they had a
special guest to help with church
service. Ms. Sharon Wurm of Hen-
sall provided a wonderful message
about Trust.
Early Thursday morning some
residents gathered for a Breakfast
Club. They enjoyed a hearty meal
of bacon, eggs, toast, juice and cof-
fee. Later in the day, some of the
residents gathered for Baking Club.
They made two pans of rice krispie
squares for snack later in the eve-
ning.
Upcoming
March 17 at 2 p.m. there will be a
St. Patrick's Day party with Gladys
VanPgmond; March 20 at 2 p.m.

bingo; and March 21 at 2 p.m. the
Emmanuel Baptist Youth Group
will visit Queensway.

keep the slides interesting for all
ages, especially for the children in

Plan fundraising auction
Plans for a fund raising Time
and Talent auction sponsored by
Zion United Church of Crediton
are well underway. It will be held
at Stephen Central School on Fri-
day evening, April 7 at 7 p.m.
As proceeds are going to be di-
vided between church funds and
community organizations, all resi-
dents of Crediton and area are
asked to participate as donors and
as buyers.
Auctioneers Bob Heywood and
Jack Riddell will be in charge of
taking bids for the live auction and
a number of items will be available
in a progressively bid silent auc-
tion.
The range of items to be donated
and sold could be very wide, any-
thing from a dozen tarts a month
for a year, to a week at a summer
cottage, to quilts, comforters, a
load of hay, homemade jams, pick-
les, relishes and services for grass
cutting, etc. Maybe you can come
up with a novel idea.

Ball registration
There will be registration for
Crediton Minor Baseball at the
Crediton Parks Board Room on
Thursday, March 16 from 7 to 9
p.m. and Saturday, March 18 from
10 to 12 noon.
Coaches are needed for the up-
coming year.
Lucan UC Dinner Theatre
On the weekend, the Lucan United Church was sold out for three performances of "The
Rev.'s Dilemma", a dinner theatre performance by a cast of local church characters.The
five scene one -act musical comedy took the audience through Market Street Park, the Em-
ployment Agency, the Shillelagh, the park and a choir practice at the church. Play director
Barb Coughlin commented, " This all came together because a lot of people volunteered
their time and talent. Working with this cast and choir has been very special for me. They
gave their time and energy so willingly." Shown above, in the Shillelagh scene from the left
