Capsule Comments with Ernie Miatello In March each year, we like to highlight Poison Prevention. It's a time to raise awareness of the causes of poisoning in the home. Look at your home from a child's point of view and see if cleansers, medications and other po- tential poisons are safely out of reach. It could save a life. Those tiny button batteries used in calculators and watches can present a poison risk to young children. Be sure to dispose of them safely. When using those effervescent tablets like calcium, Vitamin C or Alka Selzer, allow the bubbles to cease before drinking. No more bubbles means the tablet is fully dissolved which will enhance absorption. By the way, Alka-Selzer is mainly A.S.A. and Sodium Bicarbonate. So if you shouldn't have any A.S.A. or take In too much sodium, you probably shouldn't use Alka-Selzer. Did you know that a pharmacist is now able to be a guarantor on your passport application? If we've known you for a while, we would be glad to perform this service for you. HURON APOTHECARY Ltd.
