He has been described as Prime Minister Mack-
enzie King's "right hand man" during his stay in Ot-
tawa.
Hamilton said it would be a nice gesture to rec-
ognize one of Hibben's famous persons, especially
with the township's Sesquicentennial celebrations
slated for 1996. The committee is also hoping that

Hay Township can now
go ahead with office
Ratepayers withdrew their appeal last Monday
ZURICH - Hay Township will
now be able to go ahead with plans
to build a new municipal office.
Last Tuesday, an Ontario Mu-
nicipal Board hearing was sched-
uled to be held as there was one oh-
jection to the re -zoning of the
property.
Late last Monday, Glenn Hayter
and the Ratepayers of Hay Associa-
tion withdrew their appeal. Because
of the late withdraw!, the OMB
chairman still had to come to Zu-
rich where he was presented with
the appeal letter.
Hayter and the group had been
against Hay Township council's de-
cision to locate the new municipal
office on the site of the current
building.
1995 BUICK REGAL CUSTOM
First meeting for Lucan
By Jessica Cornelissen
LUCAN - On Saturday, February 25, the Lucan 4-H
' 'T club held their first meeting. The topic of the club was
wearable art. The 17 girls and two boys gathered into
the Optimist hall. When they were all settled into their
seats there was an election of officers. Kathryn Wilson was
elected president. Breanne Baker vice-president and press -reporter
Jessica Cornelissen. The secretary could not be chosen so they will
take turns throughout the six meetings. One of the leaders, Phyllis
O'Neil, is the treasurer. The other leaders are Pam Moore, Julie
Pryce and Christine Anderson. The club also has two helpers.
Mrs. O'Neil talked about primary colours. They made a broach
out of wooden heart spray painted gold. They decorated it with
beads and buttons, glued on a pin and set it to dry. When they were
dry they set them in a jewelry box to carry them home. Christine
Anderson told them about the history of jewelry. They were told
what to bring to the next meeting.
Kathryn Wilson adjourned the meeting.
