O'Brien re-elected as Chair
of Government Committee
OTTAWA - Pat O'Brien wits
unanimously re-elected as Chair of
the Southwestern Ontario Caucus
at their weekly meeting held in Ot-
tawa.
"I am once again very honoured
to be re-elected as Chair by the
Southwestern Ontario Caucus
peers. I look forward to represent-
ing the views and interests of all
constituents of Southwestern Onta-
rio," said the London -Middlesex
MP.
The Southwestern Ontario Cau-
cus is composed of 23 members of
Parliament who represent an ex-
pansive area which includes cen-
tres such as Windsor, Cambridge,
London, Simcoe, Tobermory and
their surrounding communities.`
O'Brien added, "I am proud to be
leading such a strong team. In the
past year our regional Caucus has
been instrumental in bringing about
the federal ethanol program, has
drawn attention to the need for re-
gional infrastructure funding, and
has provided valuable input in the
development of policies related to
the GATT."
O'Brien has served as Chair on a
variety of committees, in his ten
years as a London City Councillor.
He has given greater influence to
the London region, in the large 98
member Ontario Caucus.'
