About the just concluded year, Ulch commented, "The only soft spot came in year-end sales as the government's tax credit incentive for buying equipment was abandoned in 1993. On the down side, Ulch reports that the unusually mild weather so far this winter and 'a lack of snow has slowed sales of a brand new machine his firm featured last year. Little opportunity has been given for the use of the Sno Rocker which came about last year as the brainwave of service manager Doug Bell. The Sno Rocker is the ultimate in cow behind snowmobile trailers . The deluxe model is ideal for passengers and is capablt of following your snowmobile without throwing passengers on rough terrain, riding through moguls on a walking beam suspension and air ride spring. Russeldale Farm Equipment has been operated by Bob Ulch since 1966 and carries a full line of Massey Ferguson tractors and combines, White New Idea planters, tillage equipment and manure spreaders. Also in stock are Kongskilde plows and cultivators, Massey Ferguson garden and lawn equipment and Haybuster drills. Over the years, Massey Ferguson combines have become the preferred choice of North America's most demanding customers. It's a legacy of which MF owners are extremely proud and one intended to continue with the best rotary combining technology and customer support. The Russeldale resident says White planters have been well accepted and now hold 46 percent of the market share in North America. Jim Hult- gren, owner of more than 800 acres of land in Alta, Iowa stands firmly be- hind the White planter. He says, "Witen I started looking for a new planter, I kept hearing about the accuracy of the White. That's why I visited my White dealer about it. "I bought the White planter for its excellent seed placement in both corn and ,soybeans. Unlike other planters, the White plants soybeans like it plants corn with very even seed placement both laterally (spacing) and ver- tically (depth). Another reason I bought the White planter is the ability to switch from planting corn to soybeans in the time it takes for a coffee break simply by attaching their soybean splitter. It's a well known fact that decreasing inch- es between rows usually results in higher yields." Another testimony comes from the owners of 1,500 acres of land near Thamesford. Ontario, Allan and Neil Payne. They say, "We have owned planters with air metering systems since 1976. What's nice about the White planter is that we just go to the field with it and know it will work per- tkLw 01.0111)IONV$S7P1P \OIL% aat DOM.4is bead Now's the time toney on new hay and forage equipment and lawn and garden tractors you'll need next spring. Over the years we have had consistent performances and like how simple it is to operate. All the settings are easy to make. With a White there is no talc. No mess. The White is better value for the money. The 16 -row forward fold model we have now is uncomplicated to use when compared to the way other planters fold. It doesn't have wings or couplers to connect before planting. The White planter makes it easy to go from the road to the field. it just takes one minute to fold." Neil Payne concludes, "Ali this , simple operation, easy -to -set settings and uncomplicated folding gives us more time for our 125 cow, dairy op- eration and the accuracy gives us better yields which improves cash flow." Russeldale Farm Equipment has a full-time staff of seven employees in- cluding Bob Ulch and his wife Mildred who is office manager and sec- retary -treasurer. The parts department consists of parts manager Larry El- liott and Denise Meagher. Doug Bell is service manager and the mechanics are Perry Lealess, Gary Ulch and apprentice Murray McIntosh. Bob Ulch says the Haybuster 107 all-purpose drill is ideal for no -till, minimum till or conventional field conditions. Adjustable pressure springs can be easily set on each opener to provide normal amounts of down pressure to over 300 pounds to cut through heavy soils and heavy residue conditions. Individual parallel linkage and packer wheel depth control on each double disc opener puts the seed where you want it regardless of field conditions. Offset double disc openers cut through heavy residue and soil to provide accurate seed placement in the soil, not on top of the residue. The Hay - buster is ideal for pasture renovations and interseeding and can plant three types of seed at one time without mixing. Individual parallel linkage and packer wheel depth control puts the seed where you want it regardless of field conditions. It has heavy duty design and comes in 10 foot lengths for multiple hitches of 20, 30 and 40 feet. These are a few of the features which combine to make the Haybuster all- purpose drill very practical and popular. in the parts department Denise Meagher and manager Larry Elliott check an order.
