No one was seriously hurt as a result of the fire at Doug and Darlene Finkbciner's home on Stephen Twp. Conc. 7-8 outside of Crediton. The fire call was received by the Stephen Twp. Fire Dept. at 12:11 p.m. and 20 Stephen and 10 Dashwood volunteer firefighters were on the scene till about 4:15 p.m., Stephen Fire Chief Rob Pertschy said. Jeff Finkbeiner. 20. was home at the time of the fire as well as a home care worker. Both Jeff, who is in a wheelchair. and the home care worker made it out of the home unhurt. Pertschy said some articles were salvaged from the home including the Christmas presents. But the main floor of the house was "totally destroyed" and the rest of the home received extensive fire, smoke and water damage, he said. No cause for the fire had been determined by the time the T -A went to press. Pertschy said the Finkbeiners are insured and will stay at Grand Bend's Oakwood Inn till other arrangements are made.
