It has been a seemingly long wait. hut school is finally out for the
two week long Christmas Break. The annual Christmas assembly was
held on Friday afternoon. Skits were put on by the teachers and the
student council did their own version of "The Night Befere Christ-
mas". Musical performances were put on by the concert choir and the
senior concert band. A school group called the "Deadbeats" consist-
ing of both students and teachers also performed a few numbers.
The school 0.S.A.I.D. group (Ontario Students Against impaired
Driving) sent out a clear message to have fun over the holidays, but
not to drink and drive.
The Christmas bureau campaign went well this year. The school
brought in about 300 gifts and also some non-perishable food for the
bureau. Some students on spares volunteered to help organize the
presents and food at the bureau for the families to pick up. Thanks to
everyone who brought in presents or food, or helped out in organizing
it. It may not seem like a huge contribution, but your efforts were ap-
preciated very much.
. Over the past six' weeks the school ,has been involved with a chal-
lenge called "Moolapalooza." The school could win a free dance and
other prizes if enough milk was purchased in the cafeteria. The time
limit is up now and we have sold enough milk to hopefully win a free
dance. .
The last day of semester one will be Monday, January 19. Exams
will be running from Tuesday, January 20 to Monday, January 26..
There will be no P.A. day this year and the second semester will begin
on Tuesday, January 27.
I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season! See you in two
weeks!
A Christmas Poem
By Meghan Stuart, Grade 5
Exeter Public School
Now that everyone is asleep
One that's not won't get a treat
Endless waiting near.the tree
Love is in the air
Look at"all the snow'
Piles of it grow-
On
rowOn the street there is ice
It looks beautiful and nice
I like to mush
All the slush
• The hest part is the tree
It tills me with glee
When I sleep
Santa will creep
in the dark:
HOF leave his mark
What will I get .
1'hope it's a pet
Christmas is near -
Let's all have some cheer.
Present .
Frilly, colorful,
Wrapping, tearing, silting
' Sitting under the tree
