The Lucan Legion donated $2,500 to community groups last week. The Legion gave $1,000 to both the fire department and Friends of the Library and $500 to the Athletic Association: St 1 17 Christmas light tour enjoyed HENSALL - Fun and Fitness was an appropriate start to the week at Queensway Nursing Home in Hensall, considering pretty well everyone had overindulged at the Family Christmas Dinner. • In the afternoon several residents made shortbread cookies at Baking Group. Later in the evening they shared -them with Their Girl Guide Buddies. Tuesday Worship Service was led by Rev. Vernon Dean of -Exeter Pentecostal'. Church. Residents appreciated Rev. Dean's special Christmas Communion service. Bible Study was well attended Wednesday afternoon. Everyone finds the guide, Senior Saints quite interesting. If you noticed the Mobility Bus around Hensall and Exeter Wednesday night, that was Queensway residents enjoying the Beautiful Christmas light displays. They were making candy . canes, . dolls. trucks and more. But not Melanie. she was in Santa's office. "I would like you to come with me this year." said Santa. "I am getting old." Melanie ' was surprised. "Me?" she asked. "Yes; you," said Santa. 'You may go now. I need my rest." . Melanie was excited! She went to her room 'to get her tools and went to work. The next day, she got up early. She went to wake up Santa. He told her to go get the reindeer and take them for a test flight. That night. all the elves were packing for Santa and Melanie to go. Melanie got on the bright col- ored sleigh.. Santa got on too. He called the reindeer by 'name. and they were off and ready to give our presents. Melanie had a very good time helping Santa.
