Santa stops at St. Patrick's Christmas party

SAINTSBURY - On December 8, nine women from
St. Patrick's and two guests met at 7 p.m. at Hazel's
home for dessert and coffee prior to the Christmas
• ACW meeting.
Margaret.Carroll led the service. Members prayer
and general thanksgiving was said in .unison followed
by prayers for Sunday Schools led hy Kimberley
Kelley; Missionaries remembering prayer partner •
Simon • Beaver Jr.. by Suzanne Davis: Church and her..
work by Chris Kramer; Absent members remembering
Rose Cunningham by Viola Atkinson; Sick remember-
ing Mary Davis by Mabel Needham, Prayer for
Anniversary of Ones Departed remembering members.
Mary Kooy, Eileen Carroll and Marguerite Davis
Greenlee who passed away three years ago, December
10, by .Hazel *Davis. Heather MacGillivray'read the
Christmas Story. .
Margaret Carroll read a poem "I Ask God". Hazel
Davis read the story from Women of the Bible,"Mary
fhe Mother of Jesus" followed hy Bible discussion

Business followed with the secretary and treasurer's

Fair Share paid. Jared Estate interest was voted -upon
to tie sent to ACW of the Diocese. the hale report was
read, .plants.and cards were•delivered tta the Villa. and.
,gifts for shut-ins are ready. to he delivered. A letter
from the Daily Bread Program was read and another
collection of canned goods and money is ready to .be
delivered,. • ' _ • ; •
Last inute plans, for the Christmas Pageant and
- party were finalized and a gift for the rector was decid-
ed upon.
The roll call was answered with a Christmas verse"or
poem. Hazel Davis won 'a Bible quiz A gift exchange
was conducted. •
On Saturday at '7 p.m. the congregation from Si..
Patrick's met to-celeh't;ate the Evening Prayer seryice.
the third week in Advent. The dhildten also presented'
their Christmas Pageant and concert.
Kimberley Kelley led in opening prayers and the
Advent collect. •

' The children's focus followed with the lighting of
the third candle in the Advent wreath. representing
Joy, lit by Corbin. MacGillivray assisted by Caleb and
Katie -Scarlett lighting the candles representing Peace
and Hope.
Crystal Davis gave the welcome, Courtney
.MacGillivray read the scriptures. Katie -Scarlett
MacGillivray read the story "Mary is chosen to be the
Mother of Jesus", portraying the angel along with
Brittany. Kelley and Alexis Kramer.,
A story "Mary and Joseph" was read by Corbin
MacGillivray with Mary portrayed by Starr Davis and
Joseph by Caleb MacGillivray. Crystal Davis read the
' story "The Nigh; Jesus was Born" and sang "Silent
Night." .
- Harley Davis read the story "Shepherds Visit Jesus"
and Caleb MacGillivray read the story "When the
Wise Men Visit Jesus."
• Harley Davis and Corbin MacGillivray portrayed the
innkeepers and Travis. Davis the shepherd. All children
were in costume. for the pageant with Christmas carols
being sung hetween stones. '
Travis Davis presented the offering and Hazel
Davis, Sunday School -superintendent, closed the ser-
vice with prayer.
Each•child hada poem or song and dance. Brittany
Kelly sang -"Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer". Travis
Davis recited a poem "Make Room' for Christ at
. Christmas". A poem and "Old Old Story" was given
hy Harley Davis: and• Starr and Travis Davis sang
- "Away in a Manger." •
Starr also read a poem entitled "A Lighted Candle".
The final two acts were karaoke songs with Courtney
MacGillivray and. Katie -Scarlett as Kenny Rogers and
Dolly Parton singing "islands in the Stream" and Calch
and Corhin fyiacCillivray pertoTrming songs -and dances
from the Beach Boys.
Santa visited and distributed gifts and treat
Fellowship and refreshments followed the party.
Get well wishes go to Cody Kelley who was ill and
unable to he in the pageant as a shepherd. .
On December 21. he Rev. Stanley Jay will he at Si.
Patrick's to celebrate the Holy Eucharist and to present
perfect attendance gitis to the Sunday Schoolchildren:
