Capsule. Comments
with Ernie Miatello
Asthmatics should keep their metered -dose in-
halers, warm during the cold weather. The cold
can cause a poor distribution of the propellant
and the drug inside. If you get too .high a dose
of propellant, it could cause spasm in the bron-
chial tubes.
Dry skin isn't helped by soaking in a tub. It actually robs the skin
of valuable moisturizing oils. Keep baths and showers short.
Keep the water temperature warm, not hot. Use bath oil in the
bath and a moisturizer afterwards to keep the skin from becom-
ing too dry during the long winters.
We are coming to that time of year when smokers start thinking
of quitting again. Here are four thoughts to help you make that
choice: 1) Ion -term smokers are 4 times as likely to turn gray
prematurely;2 smokers are twice as likely to lose their teeth as
non-smokers; ) smokers have thinner, less elastic skin that non-
smokers and thus show more signs of aging; 4) lifetime male
smokers have only a 43% chance of living to the age of 73. It's
78% for non-smokers. Good luck)
There is a tendency for some people to overindulge in the food
and beverage department during the holiday season. Try alternat-
ing every alcoholic drink with a soft drink or fruit juice. (By the
way, the best cure for a hangover Is not to get one.)
