Exeter junior curlers
qualify for regionals
DURHAM - Two of Exeter Curling Club's junior, teams have
qualified for the Ontario Regionals at Mount Forest on Nov. 29-30
after stellar performances at the Teranet Juniors at Durham Curling
Club last weekend.

Shapton defeated rinks from Listowel and Durham to win the 'A'
boys title.
"We've never even gotten this far.'
assistant coach Les Hilts said of the
juniors success this season. "The boys
were just the best team and they per-
formed, as they should have. When-

pulled it out of the bag. They were
awesome."
On the girls side, the team of Jenn
Mercer, Laura Miller. Melanie Ur-
- quhart and Brianne Webber beat rinks from Vanastra, Seaforth and
Ripley to win the 'B' title. They also beat their cohort team of Beth -
Ann Hern, Marilou Hern. Adrienne Urquhart, Jenni Debllick and
spare Carrie Illman in the 'B' semi-final. Mercer's team. only lost to
Harriston, the eventual 'A' champ.
"The girls were under enormous pressure," Hills said. "(But) when
they had to make the shots they did."
The Ontario Regionals aro, the qualifier for the Provincial Cham-
pionships
hampionships in Oshawa in January.
"We've never
even gotten this
far. Whenever
they needed a
big shot they
just pulled it
out of the bag."
