On Tuesday of last week, there • was a break -down in the en- gine that hauls the train. from the north. The freight engine was used to take the train to London. On Monday -while Mr. E. • Rowcliffe was driving south on -Main Street -with W.J. Stat- ham's bread wagon he was run into by Dr. Graham's auto. The car struck the horse and carried it a short distance. The•shafts • of the wagon and parts of the • harness were broken. and the_ horse .slightly bruised. Neighbors, friends and. family gathered at the church on November 15 to enjoy a turkey dinner.. Many people participated by conking the turkeys, preparing the meal, and donating pies. Peter Scott was the guest speaker at Centralia and Zion West United Churches on December 16. with a message entitled "When Love is Not - Enough" • Donations of toques, mittens and socks would be welcomed to be given to the children at CPRI. Place them on the 'Mitten Tree' at Centralia, United Church. - .If you have extra coats or jackets for children, the Granton Masonic Temple is collecting them for needy -children -and youth. "This really didn't mean much to_ ire' until- I actually get to meet someone who. needed a transplant of an organ. it really -does make you think.".she said. Wehher's hands-on visit included helping her mother look up patient blood work on the computer, taking the patients' temperature. pulse and hhlod pressure. -"13y the ,end of the shift I was to-- tally. omtally exhausted and mom informed • • me it was a steady day but not an Overly busy one.
