Day was commemorated at
Centralia United Church on
November 9: Everyone was wel-
. domed with a poppy as they entered
the church. A special addition to
the worship serdice .was Greg
Shewfeit .who played the bagpipes
at thebeginning and end of the ser-
vice.
Accompanied by Marjorie Johns
on•the organ, Judy Mills recited the
poem "in -Flanders Fields" by
-Canadian John McCrae. •
•- Minister Heather Scott explained
the purpose'of"The Healing Fund"-
and invited members of the congre
gation tri' participate if they wished.

Canada through the Mission and
Service Fund. Centralia United

Following worship, everyone
enjoyed a hot dog luncheon hosted
by the Centralia Sunday School: It
was an opportunity tossing 'Happy
Anniversary' to Minister Heather
and Rev.. Peter Scott on their first
wedding anniversary.
Centralia United Church will
host their annual turkey dinner on
November 15. Dinner will he
served at 5 p.m. and at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are 59.50 for adults and
54.75 for children six to 12 years of
age. Anyone who can help bake
pies or would -like tickets, contact
Alan Powe at 228-6557. .
Kirkton United Church invites
everyone to their 1997 Christmas
Tour Lof five homes and the church
beautifully decorated by local indi-
viduals and businesses. The tour
'will be held November 15 and 16.

Plans to be
discussed
CLINTON The Huron County
Federation of Agriculture Environ-
ment Cdinmittee will be holding an
information meeting concerning •
nutrient management planning
Thursday night. The meeting will
be held at the Godench Township
Cummenity Centre in Holmesville
with registration starting at.7:45
' p.m. and the meeting starting at 8
P m: sharp.- -
-Don Hilborn. Ontario Ministry of
�gnculture. Food and Rural Af-
fairs Nutrient Management Special-
ist frorn Woodstock will be the key-
notespeaker. Hilborn is at the
forefront of nutrient management
planning and will be discussing the
ministry's program:
Brian Hall, .OMAFRA Soil and'
Crop.Advisor in Clinton will cover
the ten steps in developing a nutri-
ent management plan,'from the test-
ing of manure to determining appli-
cation rates.
The meeting is open to anyone
with an interest in nutrient manage-
ment planning,. both from an eco-
nomic and environmental stand-
point.

in Crediton recently, there were

Adams.

and Pastor Heather Scott. Twenty
people attended the.lunch and
