Accompanied by Marjorie Johns on•the organ, Judy Mills recited the poem "in -Flanders Fields" by -Canadian John McCrae. • •- Minister Heather Scott explained the purpose'of"The Healing Fund"- and invited members of the congre gation tri' participate if they wished. in ,her sermon, she described the valuable projects and support pro- vided by the'United•Church of Canada through the Mission and Service Fund. Centralia United Church benefits directly hy the sup- port provided for Heather to contin- ue her education. Following worship, everyone enjoyed a hot dog luncheon hosted by the Centralia Sunday School: It was an opportunity tossing 'Happy Anniversary' to Minister Heather and Rev.. Peter Scott on their first wedding anniversary. Centralia United Church will host their annual turkey dinner on November 15. Dinner will he served at 5 p.m. and at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are 59.50 for adults and 54.75 for children six to 12 years of age. The meeting will be held at the Godench Township Cummenity Centre in Holmesville with registration starting at.7:45 ' p.m. and the meeting starting at 8 P m: sharp.- - -Don Hilborn. Hilborn is at the forefront of nutrient management planning and will be discussing the ministry's program: Brian Hall, .OMAFRA Soil and' Crop.Advisor in Clinton will cover the ten steps in developing a nutri- ent management plan,'from the test- ing of manure to determining appli- cation rates. The meeting is open to anyone with an interest in nutrient manage- ment planning,. both from an eco- nomic and environmental stand- point. Exeter will help Usborne plow, sand and salt USBORNE - The Town of Exeter Works Department will assist Us - borne Township this winter when the roads need to be plowed. Usbome Road Superintendent Ken Parker contacted Exeter Works Department, asking for assistance. with snow plowing, sanding and salting this winter.
