An Ecumenical Fellowship Luncheon was held at : the Mennonite Church on Sunday, November 9 witfi the Canadian Bible Society. The annual Catholic Rural Life Conference will be held on November 29 at King's College in London from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for both rural and urban residents. Tony Clarke will be the guest speaker on "Beyond the Right to Farm". Ralph Ferguson, former minister of agriculture, wilt also -speak. Tickets cost $15 per person. The bazaar and bake sale and tea was a big -success on Saturday. Marie Gingerich won a cake made by Mary -Lou Denomme; and Jean Burr won a baby quilt made by Ina Neeb. - Winners of the H.T.A. -Lottery Calendar draws were: Janine and Jeff Smallman, Hensall ($25); Nora Corriveau, Zurich ($25 gift basket). Blue Water Rest Home adminis- trator Joe Risi and staff member Cathy Shantz and two Auxiliary - members, Ina Neeb and Carmel Sweeney, spent last Thursday, November 6, at Spruce Lodge Nursing Home, in Stratford. They attended a Region #3 annual.meet- ing. • The Ladies Auxiliary of Blue Water Rest Home met on November -4. Twenty-five members- answered embersanswered the roll call. Minutes of the last meeting were read by Mary -Lou Denomme. Gladys Gingerich, first vice, chaired the meeting and Mary Ducharme gave the treasurer's report. The group received a donation of $150 from the Bean Festival Committee for selling hot dogs at the last Bean Festival. Members were asked to help at various upcoming activities: resi- dents bowling on November 10; make coffee on November 18 when the Christian Reformed Church women will entertain at 7 p.m.; a shopping trip to Masonville Mall in London on November 19; make coffee on November 20 and 25 for musical groups coming to the Rest Home. The birthday party will be held on November 26, hosted by the Grand Bend Women's Institute. Auxiliary members will also help at and before the Christmas family dinner at the Home on November 30. Personals Cousins Renee Sweeney and Kristin Beer of London spent Saturday and Sunday with their rel- atives in town. Carmel and Renee and Carrie and Dan Eybergen of Oakville travelled to Windsor on Sunday to visit with their aunt Eleanor Cecile in the hospital. Happy 90th birthday wishes go to Pearl Miller. on November 11. An open house was held at the Blue Water Rest Home on Sunday with several friends and relatives attend- ing. Cliff and Laura Pepper travelled to the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto on -November 13 with Herb, Donna and Heidi Kropp. Cliff judged the poultry. Heidi spent the night with cousins Brittany and- Tiffany Eybergen in Oakville and returned back home to Zurich on Friday- with ridaywith uncle Doug Klopp, also of Oakville. A roast beef supper was served to about 200 people last Friday evening, November 7, in honor of warden Murray Keys. Welcome to town recently, Dan and Julia Petteplace and their two children. They are from London . and have built a new home on Main .Street W, next to Dennis Charette. Sympathy goes to the families and relatives of the late Bill Lawrence and Blanche Parke, who both passed away last week. Berit Wallace, RR 2 Zurich, returned home recently from a three ,week holiday visiting with. her children and families, Dale and Lisa Alexander in Sudbury and Lenore in Hanover.
