Joining in the team effort were Sheila Elder (left), Shawna Foster, Laura Elder and Jane Simmons. Hensall District Co-op donated the bulbs for the project. Mark Garlough. was the organist and Lloyd Ferguson gave the announcements. Others assisting with the service were the lector Pat Cook. the ush- ers Dave Campbell and Steve McGregor. and the greeters John and Veronica Thomson and family. Veronica Thomson was thanked for. her years of service as church sec- retary. The new secretary is Karen Jolly. 'Jolly will he at the church office from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday to Friday. On November 3 the Friendship Circle will meet at the church at 10 a.m. to pack a bale of good used clothes followed by a potluck lunch. - Placemats for Queensway -will be made in the afternoon. Remember the food bank next Sunday. The Senior Choir meet Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. The P.C.W. of Carmel Church meet November 3 at 8 p.m. Remembrance Day service will he held at Carmel Presbyterian Church on November 9 at 10:45 a.m. Families of children enrolled in Hensall Gymnastics are advised that the program will go as sched- uled, Wednesday evenings. - Hensall Public School. Those inter- ested in registering should contact the Hensall Village Office at 262- 2812. Green pickup continues in the Village of Hensall. Residents are reminded to call the Village Office, 262-2812. to arrange pickup. Residents of Hensall are remind- ed that parking is prohibited on Village streets between the hours of Congratulations to our field hockey girls who made it all the way to the finals .in the WOSSA championship this weekend. The girls won all of their games on Friday and the semifinal on Saturday to make it CO the final against Medway. It was a very close game but, unfortunately. it ended in Medway's favor with a score of 1-0. Congratulations to all the girls on the team for a great season. Cross country runners went to their WOSSA championships on October 23 and the whole team ran well. Our best runner that day was Christian Stuckless who got 5th in the senior boys run. Congratulations to all of our runners who went. The student council attended a student leadership conference in Burlington on October 19-21. Schools from all across Canada sent stu- dent council members to the conference wh;ch dealt mostly ,with how to he a good leader and how to get school spirit. There were many motivational speakers and workshops to inspire council members and it was a great time and alearning experience for everyone who went. If the strike ends. picture retakes are today. Students who want retakes must bring back the old. unwanted pictures in order to get retakes. Any students who have not yet had a picture taken must have it taken today. Any students who don't want a package must still get a photo for the yearbook and student card. • An students at the school are painting windows for this Christmas season. If you would like the windows of your local business painted - for Christmas. please contact Ms. Maple at the school by mid- November.
