EXETER - The evening unit of
Exeter United Church Women met
in the ladies parlor October 6. Unit
leader Norma Cockwill opened the
meeting with a shon poem. Sylvia
Smith reported that the Mandates
for next year have been ordered and
Bev Campbell announced that more
table coverings will soon be here.
Barb Tiedernan reminded everyone
of the annual bazaar November 1i:
Large margarine containers. bat-
ting. buttons and black socks arc
needed for various crafts to be sold
that day. An Anne of Green Gables
doll was introduced and members
were asked to pay. SI to guess het
birthdate which will be.revealed at •
the bazaar. Norma Hoopct
announced that Bev Rabbets -will
speak at the anniversary service
October 26.
Dolores Shapton opened the
worship service with "Trained
Hands." Audrey MacGregor gave
an .essay on "Hands and helping
other through our hands." Several
scripture reading and poems were
read by Vetlyn Lindenfield, Flora
Doerr, Betty Clark, Dolores
Shapton and Gladys Richardtloti, all
pertaining to hands. Marion
Frayne's group served carrot cake
and tea.

Elimville Church was decorated in
a Thanksgiving theme, flowers.
Vegetables, vines and a sheaf of
wheat..Megan Parker lit•the• Christ
Candle and Judith Parker wel-
comed'everyone and gave the
announcements. •,
-Rev.-,Jock Tolmay told the chil-
dren,a story about Thanksgiving.
The choir sang'"A Prayer of
Thanksgiving" accompanied by
organist Marjorie Johns. Judith
Parkerread the scripture. The title
of Rev. Jock's sermon was "God
the Fount of All Blessing". -
