Festival of Flowers at the K -W
Community Centre Aug. 19.-

score in the flower show went to
Greta Richards, - second highest
score was awarded to Audrey
McGregor and third highest to Jo-
sie Ryckman.
In the junior section (I2 and un-
der), Benjamin Willis -Leake won
the award for the most points. The
best design in the show, TD Blank
Special, was awarded to Gertrude
Willis. -Anna Peterson was the ca-
pable judge.
Guest speaker was Brenda Dan-
iel, her topic was 'Mother Nature
for Health, Beauty and Vitality'.
She demonstrated the use of plants
in making teas and ointnents to
cure many ailments.

ZURICH - Some parents and
grandparents in the village of
Zurich are upset to find.out there
will not be a crossing guard for
the school children this year at
the corner of Main and Fredrick
streets.
St. Paul's Anglican Cathedral
in London, Ontario will be hold-
ing a memorial service for
Princess Diana on the day of her
fu. neral, September 6, at 12:15
p.m. Everyone is welcome to
express their sympathy to her
family at this church gathering.:
The Ladies Monday Night
Bowling team had their organi-
zational meeting at the Town
and Country Lanes recently are
all set to begin bowling on
September 8 frcim 7 to 9 p.m.'
This year's executive team are
the 'Odds & Ends'.

The Terry Fox Run :is sched-

to Hong Kong on August 14
where she has joined husband

there since July. The couple
hope to make it back for
Christmas holidays.
Brent O'Brien, son of Don
and Donna, has recently returned
from two and a half years of
working in Singapore. Brent is
now in Toronto as he was trans-
ferred -to Bloomberg.

reunion on August 17 at Ripple
Tree Riding Stable near
Thedford. This year's get togeth-
er was hosted by Don and Alice
Masse, Zurich, with relatives
attending from Wyoming.

weekend visiting with her son
