He jointed the Royal Canadian Nass in 1940 and was on convoy duty in the North Atlantic on HMCS Kootenay and HMCS St. Francis. After the war, he returned to Mon- treal where he joined Bell Canada as a tele- phone installer. In 1947, he married Edna' Munro of Montreal the love of his life. They had one child: David. in 1949. One year' later the family moved .to tterhum Park, east of Montreal. Andy retired. from . Bell Canada after 30 . years of service. in 1976. in 1983, Andy and Edna moved to Ex- eter. where Edna- died in 1989 after a one year illness. Andy moved to Calgary in 1994 to be closer to David.
