mother of Heather Howitt and husband Bill
of Windsor, and .John and wife Gail of To-
ronto. Dear Grandma of Richard Howitt and

Mary Beth Howitt. all Of Windsor; and Mat-
thew and Adeline MacNaughton. Toronto.

Clare Heffernan and Mary Asquith. Born in
Glasgow. Scotland in 1913. Andy carne to
Canada in 1924. As the eldest of 10 chit-,
dren. Andy learned to help suppon his Tame •
-
ly during the rough times of the depression.
He jointed the Royal Canadian Nass in
1940 and was on convoy duty in the North
Atlantic on HMCS Kootenay and HMCS St.
Francis. After the war, he returned to Mon-
treal where he joined Bell Canada as a tele-
phone installer. In 1947, he married Edna'
Munro of Montreal the love of his life.
They had one child: David. in 1949. One
year' later the family moved .to tterhum
Park, east of Montreal. Andy retired. from .
Bell Canada after 30 . years of service. in
1976. in 1983, Andy and Edna moved to Ex-
eter. where Edna- died in 1989 after a one
year illness. Andy moved to Calgary in 1994
to be closer to David. Andy -was a member
