Lifeguards at the Stephen Township pool in Huron•Park took a quick break between lessons
last Thursday. Andrea Jaques (left) heads. up the staff of Sandi Skinner, Sarah Van Sligh-
tenhorst and Mark Scevlour. Judging by the enthusiasm of the swimmers, the staff is doing
a great job of teaching life-saving, skills.

"Hot glass" exhibition at
Blyth Festival. Art Gallery,
BLYTH -.Eight of Ontario's best hot glass -artists will be represented in
anexcitingexhibition opened July 15 at the Bainton Gallery at the- Blyth
Festival. Entitled' incandescence", the show concept'is described by'guest
curator, Seaforth's Robert Tetu as follows, "As a 'gather' or molten glass
is blown and spun on the artist's blowpipe, it glows with color and with
yellow heat. The finished piece is shown to bet advantage -when -bathed in
light, once again glowing, reflecting, refracting and, this time, seeming to.
'gather' the Tight itself". The exhibition continues until August 9: - • -
The Bainton Gallery, located in the Blyth Memorial Hall is open perfor-
.mance•,days Monday.to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p_m. and non-
. performance days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.,(closed Sundays). It also open,
during theatre intermissions. Admission is free. _

A flat bed trailer with a Kubo-
ta tractor was stolen from Lot 3
Concession I Hay Township
sometime between July 5 and 9,
1997. The Kubota tractor is a
2100 series,- orange with 6 ft.
lawn deck. Alsd stolen_ was Stihl
gas powered grass whip,_ jack,
gas cans, and chins. • .
Mischief
A car parked on the hospital
parking lot at .Huron Street in
Exeter had the drivers and rear
passengers window -smashed.
. The damage occurred sometime
during the early • hours of July
13, 1997.•
