Church led Worship Service Tues-
day afternoon, with a message. on
Salvation. •
Wednesday afternoon, several
volunteers assisted residents of the
Retirement Home outside for a bar-
bcquc.
The information meeting Thurs-
day t ening on "Consent to Treat-
ment" and "Substitute Decisions"
was well received. Several people
welcomed the opportunity to ask
questions of the presenters.
Ice\creant parlor was held out-
doors in the backyard Friday after-
noon. A big thank . you to Marg
Cole, Edna Deitz and, Jessie Archer
for assisting to take orders .and
create the sundaes for 26 residents
who attended. .

Friday the residents enjoyed a
trip to the Pinery Provincial. Park
south of Grand Bend: Several resi-
dents were driven in the wheelchair
bus by volunteer Glen Thiel and ac-
companied by :Cathy Shantz, Adju-

The Saturday afternoon movie
was "The Matchmaker". Sunday af-
ternoon the residents enjoyed lemo-
nade in the auditorium and watched
the Blue Jay baseball game on the
large screen. In the morning, Clar-
_ once Gascho, Philippa Steckle, Roy
Gingerich, Susan Leslie, Mabel
Kyle; Beatrice Rader -and Marie
Gingerich attended services at Zu-
rich Mennonite -Church. • The. residents .watched "Matilda"
classical family video on the' big
screen on Monday afternoon.

of the waming signs of heat -related illness. ..
Heat exhaustion can occur from profuse sweating•causing loss of body
water and salt. This results in muscle cramps. dizziness. vomiting, -fa- -
tigue and possible fainting. - ••

High humidity and high temperatures can cause heat stroke, which .1s
an extension of heat. exhaustion. It occurs when your body' just can't
get. rid of the'extra beat efficiently and body temperatures rise sharply.
This can affect the brain causing disorientation. delirium and coma. ._

What can you .do ,to prevent these summer. problems? Spend. some
time in an air conditioned area. However don't rely on fans alone. Take
a tepid bath or shower to help get rid of excess heat. Reduce your
physical activity during the hottest part of the day. Eat Tight foods, like
fruits and salads and wear lightweight and light-colored clothes made
from natural fibre's.
