I'm sure a good time was
had by all at the Bean
festival on Saturday as there
was lots -of people, good
weather and good food. The
lucky winners of draws
were, for 8500.00, $etty Kirk,
Zurich from the skating club
tickets. Winner of the St. -
Boniface C.W.L. quilt went
to Carol Asmus of Con-
necticut. And the rest -home
•quiltwas won by Pat Ron -
eau Sarnia
Mrs. Anne Wild, RR3
Bayfield won the quilt from
St. Peter's C.W.L. Tony

Wisser won the afghan from
the Maple Woods Apart-
ments draw and Mary
Dewaele of Leamington wan
the pillow. And the lucky
winner of 81,000 from the_ K
of C draw went to Henney
Parker, Exeter. 2nd prize of
8200.00 went to Jim Van-
Bakel. Seaforth and third
prize worth 8100.00 was won
by Gary Koehler, RR 2
Kippen.

Essex spent from Friday. to
Monday with Bob and Linda
Hendrick.
Best wishes for a speedy
recovery are extended to
Vera Thiel who is a patient
in Clinton hospital due to an
accident last Thursday-
when�there was an explosion
at Huronview home for the
aged. She was there
participating in a day-care
programme. Vera received
several cuts and has her arm
in a cast.
Dave, Melissa, and Kristin
Beer are presently spending
a 3 week holiday with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. i
Mozart Gelinas Sr. and
brothers and sisters and
families and with his
mother,Mrs. Lillian Beer
and brother John of Hen-
sall.

home after being away sine
January to Elliot Lake.
Mrs. Juliette Denomm
attended the wedding of her
granddaughter Sandr
(daughter of Bert) on
Friday, August 21, in Kit
chener. Then on Saturday
she attended the wedding of
her grandson Ronnie
Denomme (son of Joe) also
in Kitchener. And a family
reunion was held on Sunday
being everyone was all
together.
Mr. and Mrs. Doc Horn
(Waldo) spent the p revious
week in Kitchener visiting
with friends, Mr. and Mrs.
William Kuntz.
Judy Morrison, Jenny and
Ryan are presently enjoying
a 'week's holiday with her
parents Mr. and Mrs. Bruce
Guy In Merlin and seeing
relatives in Windsor, .which
they went to by train.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bridle
and Joanne have been
spending most of the sum
mer at their place up north
near Dyer's Bay.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cyr and
Mr.- and Mrs. Lionel Cyr
spent the previous weekend
camping at Miller Lake near
Tobermory.
Marg Neeb and her sister
Eileen Ramey of Glencoe
and Doris Watson all spent
nine days in Hope B.C.
visiting with relatives, which
they flew to but had trouble
getting back home due to the
air strike.

The couple were married
at St. Mark's Lutheran
Church in Wellesday with a
reception at the Dundee
Country Club.
They will live in Exeter.
Mrs. Josephine Dietrich
spent the weekend in Toronto
with her daughter and
family, Dr. Julius and
Theresa Galszechy and
family also atteding the
wedding of her nephew in
Stouffville on Saturday.

Several relatives from
Zurich area attended the
wedding of Joe Hartman to
Diane St. Antoine on
Saturday at St. John the
Divine Church in London.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Larry Hartman,
London and grandson of Mrs.
Theresa Hartman.
Mrs. Laurie Erb recently
received word from the
Royal Conservatory of Music
of Toronto that she passed
her Haromony exam with
honours. Laurie is a pupil of
Mrs. Christine Eagleson

A going away party and
dinner was held on Sunday
for Berne and Doris
A Durand family reunion
was held on Saturday at the
Dashwood community
centre with 150 relatives
attending from such places
as, Sterling Heights and
Rose Land Michigan,
London, Windsor, Sarnia and
Hay and Stanley townships
and Zurich.
All sorts of games and
baseball for both young and
old were played in the af-
ternoon, followed by a
delicious smorgasbord meal
for Supper.
Entertainment in the
evening was provided by
various members of the
ami y, playing musical
nstruments and singing. A
lown act done by Marion
dkins and Jerome Durand
as really enjoyed by all.
Barbara, Don and Cathy
Smith of Tillserburg spent
the previous week with their
randparents, Joan and
Harold Smith while their
om and Dad were away on
holidays.

Harwiek of Adrian,Michigan
were Friday_ visitors with
lends, Mr.and Mrs. Ross
ohnston and the Sweeney's.

Zurich U.C. members join-
ed the Dashwood Congrega-
tion on Sunday for an out-
door service held at the
Dashwood pavilion.
Several musical numbers
were enjoyed - an in-
strumental quartet by M.
Tiemans and R. Loves, a
male quartet sang and a
visiting group who were
grandchildren of Mrs.
Witzel, a former Dashwood
resident sang several
numbers.
A friend of Rev. Laing
read the Scripture and Rev.
Laing chose Paul's letter to
the Colossians as the basis
for her sermon. Just as the
Colossians were called to be
servants of the Gospel and
the Church so we are called
to be His servants.
Lunch and a social hour
followed the service.

received honours in grade 3
piano at the Royal Con-
servatory of music
examinations held in
London last June. She is a
pupil of Mrs. Lenora
Turkheim, A.T.C.M.

and family of Stratford spent
Saturday and Sunday with
friends Mozart and Julie
Gelinas Jr.

spent Saturday and Sunday

at the home, of Mrs. Marie
Gelinas on Friday in honour
of Cheryl Denomme for

relatives and co-workers.

old Michelle Durand,
daughter of Andre and
Sharon Durand, RR 2,

Catherine Marie Stock and Ronald Gerard Meidinger were
united in marriage on May 22 at St. Joseph's Church, Strat-
ford. The bride is the daughter of Leo and Marion Stock,
Stratford and the groom is the son of Steve and Pat
Meidinger, Zurich. The maid of honour was Marina Stock,
cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Wendy Meidinger sister-
' in-law of the groom, Linda Becker, sister of the groom. The
best man was Dan Mittleholtz, friend of the groom. Guests
were ushered by Dan Meidinger, brother of the groom, Leo
Stock Jr., brother of the bride and Paul VanGerwen,friend of
the groom. Father Jim Williams officated the ceremony. Miss
Lucille Rousseau was the organist and Mr. Leo Stock, father of
the bride and Mrs. Ruth Stock, aunt of the bride were the
soloists. After a honeymoon to Niagara Falls and various
other points the couple are residing in Stratford.
