ZURICH PLAYGROUND Playground kids enjoy competition Senior On Monday we got to show what kind of champions Zur- ich turns out. In tough com- petition with Dashwood and Crediton playgrounds in baseball relays, races and tug of war, pur playground came out on top. Tuesday we spent part of the afternoon block printing which involves tooling and painting on leather blocks. Wednesday we watched an assortment of movies. There were cartoons, funny films, serious films, and sad movies . We really enjoyed them. Thursday was full of strikes and spares. That is, we brushed up on our bowl- ing skills. Greg Overholt was the high scorer of the day. Friday we were the high divers of the Vanastra pool. Many of us tried to "screw driver" front flip the "splits" and the "can opener" Junior Even though we were the winners on Monday against Crediton and Dashwood, it is more important that we had fun playing and meeting new children from other playgrounds. Since this was drama week we did some body movements with music. We all enjoyed listening to tape recorded stories with pic- ture books to flow along with. The rest of the mor- ning was spent playing • various games - new and old. A few of us took a few days holiday from playground this unuuuuuniu mmmuutenuuiiumuiuumunmmniumnunm isim mummuummmumaummnuni mu immmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Come 00 Beat Of Luck To The Bean Festival and have a great time at this unique event. 1 • S FooD /1111#40, week to spend some time with our families. Wednesday we were sur- prised to find out it was movie day. After sitting for a while we welcomed the chance to get up and stretch. This was done in the form of a peanut hunt outside. The peanuts that we found we gobbled up. Thursday was town - interest day. We toured the Post Office with thanks to Mr. McAdams. After a tour of LaPorte's MeatMarket we were treated to a wiener by Isidore. Thanks! They were great! Seeing council chambers at the Municipal Office and also the inside of themp house satisfied our curiosity about what's in those buildings on the corner of Main and Fredrick St. Thanks for the tour Mrs. Baker! Our last visit to the Vanastra pool was on Fri- day. We enjoyed it while it lasted! Citizens News, August 20, 1981 Page 13 TO THE We hope you enjoy • your visit to our Community!
