Ladies' bowling to start anew
There will be a ladies
bowling organization
meeting Tuesday, August 18,
at.7:30 p.m. at the bowling
lanes. All team captains
and anyone else interested,
Zurich

are asked to please come out
and help set up the program
for the next season which
begins in September.
Raise moneyfor playground
Eighteen playground
children took part in either a
roll-a-skate-athon or dance-
a-thon last Friday from 8
a.m. to 6 p.m. raising money
for a trip to the African Lion
Safari in Rockton the end of
this month. The one collec-
ting the most money was
Beth Sweeney - $50.00.
"Fitness people" leave area
Two familiar faces around
town since last February
known as the "fitness
people" (John and Jane)
have now completed their
survey in this area, and said
they enjoyed their work and
found every body was friend-
ly and cooperative, and are
taking a few weeks holidays
before starting in a new
area.

Sarnia spent the weekend
with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Keith Westlake.
Mrs. Catherine Sweeney
Kitchener and two grand-
daughters Molly and Jill
spent last Tuesday and
Wednesday with relatives,
Mr. and Mrs. Mozart
Gelinas Sr. and Mr. and Mrs.
Jerome Sweeney.
Recent guests at the home
of Mrs. Seleda Steckle
were, Mr. and Mrs. Enos
Martin, Elmira, Mr. and
Mrs. Earl Gingerich,
Florida and Mr. and Mrs.
Eddie Erb along with Mr.
and Mrs. Paul Steckle and
family, Zurich.
Congratulations to Wayne
Meidinger and Denise Byrne
who were married on Satur-
day August 8, in London at
St. John the Devine Church,
with dinner and reception
held in Zurich. The couple
will be living in the
Frederick Street
apartments here in town.
(Wayne is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Ivan Meidinger.)
Also congratulations to
bride and groom, Julianne
Bedard and Marty Becker
who were married at St.
Boniface Church on Satur-
day by Fr. Paul Mooney,
with their dinner and recep-
tion in Exeter at the. Rec
centre. The bride is the
daughter of Percy and Marie
Bedard Sr.
A joint barbecue birthday
party was held on Sunday at
the home of Jerome and
Carmel Sweeney in honor of
three members of the fami-
ly, being - Mozart Gelinas
Sr. who's, birthday was on
Friday, Carrie Sweeney's on
Saturday and Aimee Gelinas
on Sunday.
Best wishes are extended
to Mrs. Nete Oesch who has
retired as organist from the
Unite4 Church after more
than 40 years of service. A
well deserved rest will be •
had in the lovely new chair
she was presented on Sunday
at a congregational luncheon
in her honor.
Florence Denomme is
spending a couple of weeks
at the home of her son, Greg
and Betty Denomme in
Kitchener.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen
Brokenshire and family
spent last week cottaging at
Otter Lake.
Farewell to Mrs. Joan
Bedard who moved on Tues-
day from the Spruce Villa
Apts. to the McMay Apts. in
London.
A couple of Junior farmers
members spent from Friday
to Sunday in Peterborough
attending their summer
games (sports activities)
held at the Trent University.
A wonderful time was had
on Monday by Kerry -Lynn
MR. AND MRS. DWIGHT KINSMAN
Faye Marie Whiting and Dwight Earl Kinsman were united in
marriage on July 4, by Rev. Stanley McDonald at Hensall
United Church. The parents of the couple are John and Ev
McAllister, RR 1 Hensall and Bob and Francis Kinsman, RR 2
Kippen. The maid of honour was Nancy Whiting and
bridesmaids were Linda Hackney, and Nina Knee. Flowergirl
was Michelle Kinsman. The best man was John Kinsman and
guests were ushered by Lyle Kinsman and Larry Whiting.

a bus full who spent the day
at Canada's Wonderland
near Toionto.
Mrs. Stella Rose of London
spent the day on Friday
visiting with her mother,
Mrs. Lerina Rose at the
Spruce Villa Apts. '
Louis and Delores Schilbe
returned home last Thurs-
day after a delightful two
week trip to New Castle,
New Brunswick were they
visited with their son and
daughter-in-law, David and
Irene Schilbe and
grandchildren, Sabrina and
Candace, also stopping at
various places on the way
home.
Lee and Rose Regier spent
last week with their son and
family, Richard and Janet
Regier in Calgary, which
they went to by plane.
The Zurich Buckettes ball
team are now in the playoffs
with the first game going to
the Varna team 15-10: This
Tuesday llth at 9:00 they
will play them again in
Zurich for the best 2 our of 3
games.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis
Gingerich and family spent
last week visiting with
relatives in Indiana.
Mrs. Irene Hoffman and
son Robert returned home
on Sunday, after an enjoyable
16 day bus trip going as far
as Jasper. Seeing such
places as the Columbia ice
Fields. The Black Hills
region and Mt. Rushmore.
They saw a rodeo in Cody,
Wyoming, where they also
had a Buffalo Chuck wagon
dinner out of original tin
plates. and cups, which they
found was very interesting.
Mrs. Lois Thiel along with
sons, David and Dani; Alice
Thiel and Helen Geiger all
enjoyed going on the bus trip
to Canada's Wonderland in
Toronto on Monday.
Beth Sweeney is presently
spending a few days
vacation with her aunt
Sharon Overholt in London.
MR. AND MRS. KIM McKINNON
, Judy Ducharme, daughter of Gerard and Mary Ducharme, RR
2 Zurich, and Kim McKinnon, son of Raymond McKinnon,
Zurich were united in marriage at St. Peter's Roman Catholic
Church, St. Joseph's on July 4, with Father Gary Goyeau of
Windsor officiating. Matron of honour was Susan Tocker,
cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Gail Oke, sister of the
bride and Nancy Rae lovie, sister of the groom. Amie
Schwindt, cousin of the groom was the flowergirl. best man
was Randy McKinnon, brother of the groom and groomsmen
were Mike Clarke and Pat Bedard, friends of the groom.
Guests were ushered by Kevin McKinnon, brother of the
groom and Gary Ducharme, brother of the bride. Jonathon
Lovie, nephew of the groom was the ringbearer. The music
was provided by the bride's brother, Gary Ducharme. After a
honeymoon trip to Wheels Inn, Chatham and Niagara Falls,
the couple are now residing in Zurich.
