Monday provided us with the cp- portunity to do this. We identified trees by their texture and listened to bird's sounds. Everything was pulled into place by a hike through the bush. (The wild raspberries were good too! ) Tuesday was the first rainy day of our summer program so far. That didn- 't bother us though since we were kept very busy inside. We were surprised to find out that we enjoyed doing macrame, once we learned a few basic knots and we all agreed that it was very good rainy day craft. On Wednesday each one of us arrived at the arena with an old T-shirt in hand ready for tie dying. After we saw our finished products we all decided our new colourful T-shirts would be the official garb of our camp - out the next day. Thursday saw us loaded down with tents, sleeping bags, food and clothes. Then it was off to Ken Gascho's farm for the night. We went to our tents around 11:30 p.m. full of hot dogs, corn on the cob and marshmallows. 1:45 a.m. and all was noisy, but well. Until once again we were given the chance to use our sense of smell and we heard one of the campers yell, "skunk, skunk,"! Zippers were quickly zipped up and we were in for the night. By 4:30 a.m. we were all asleep and we were wide awake (or at least awake) by 7:30 a.m. Most of us slept Friday afternoon. • Juniors Monday we enjoyed spending a peaceful morning in the middle of nature. Some songs and stories helped to get across the message of beauty and conservation of nature. Even though it rained on Tuesday we didn'tstayinside all morning. We went on a wet walk! Wednesday morning we could be seen and heard marching and singing through the streets of Zurich. After that we made pet rocks. Thursday we got to try out our cooking skills when we roasted marshmallows over the barbegues. This was followed by sand painting along with numerous games such as dizzy lizzy„red rover and tractor. Friday was a wonderul hot and sunny day. We made sand castles - Just like the one Prince Charles and Princess Di live in! After making flower vases from popsicle sticks we finished the week off with some nice cold orange juice.
