Approximately 150
children have been attending
the two week vacation Bible
school, mornings at St.
Peter's Lutheran Church the
public school and the United
Church. It concludes this
Zurich

Thursday evening (16th)
with a program at 7:30 p.m.
at` the Public School.
Everyone is invited to at-
tend.
A display of craft's and
things the children have
done is the theme, Jesus,
Your Word lives in Me, will
be presented by the children.
The money raised, from
this project will be donated
to missions in Somalia,
Africa and also for Bibles to
China. L"dst year they
collected about $800.
Zurich playground
Forty children between
the ages of 5 - 12 years old
began . their six week's of
summer playground Monday
morning with Leaders,
Heather Sweeney and Lori
Turkheim. A lot of fun and
activities. have been lined up
to keep them busy. Their
first project will be entering
a float in the Zurich Fair
parade this Saturday July 18.
Thank's to the Chamber of
Commerce, Lions Club and
Ministry of Culture and
Recreation for making this
program possible.
50th wedding anniversary
Congratulations to
Herbert and Ruby Neeb who
celebrated their 50th wed-
ding anniversary at the
arena on Sunday with ap-
proximately 140 dinner
guests. A lovely decorated
cake was made for the. oc a-
sion by their granddaughter
Kim Crete (nee Hay).
Friends and relatives
attended from such places
as, Woodland, Glencoe, Ap-
pin, St. Thomas, West -
Lorne, London. Strathroy,
Seaforth, Melbourne,
Brucefield, Exeter, Hensall,
Dashwood and Zurich. With
two brothers (cousins) Ray
and Meryl Neeb and families
coming from Lake Odessa
and Hastings. Also two
school mates from 1914 of
Ruby's were . p>}esent from
Alvinston and Strathroy and
a friend fromteachers
college in 1926.
The couple have three
children, 17 grandchildren
and 12 great grandchildren,
and received many gifts.
Seaforth playday
On Tuesday the older
children of the playground
(afternoon group) took. part
London and Zurich.
Last Tuesday Mrs. Er-
nestine Masse from Wind-
sor and Mrs. Dorothy Van-
drasco and Mrs. Clair Clair-
mont also of Windsor and Mr.
and Mrs. John Applegate of
Arizona visited with Mrs.
Joan Bedard and were
dinner guests. This being her
mother and three sisters.
Personals
Around 80 friends,
members and families of the
Huron County Poultry,
Helen Geiger. There were
62 guests present from such •
places as, Oakville,
Freelton, Cambridge, Lon-
don, Exeter, Crediton,
Grand Bend and Zurich
area. Also two sisters Pearl
andGertrudefrom Dearborn,
Michigan, who spent the
weekend here.
John and Ann O'Neill of
London and three sons
returned home Saturday
after spending two weeks in
the area holidaying at the

from 9 - 4. Each one brought
their own lunch. It was spon-
sored by the Lice Huron
zone recreation committee.
Bruce and Retta Guy of
Merlin spent a few days this
past week with their
daughter and son-in-law,
Judy and Paul Morrison and
they also attended the Tri-
Cou`nty Heritage and An-
tique Show in Ilderton for
the, weekend where they
camped.
Little Anita Irene Bedard
daughter of Randy and
Frances was baptized on
Sunday at Our Lady of Mt.
Carmel Church with God-
parents bveing Paul and
Shirley Bedard. It was
followed bya familypicnic at
the baby's home. with guests
coming from St. Catharines,

On Saturday, June 20, Mary Ellen Steckle and Gerald
Zielman were united in marriage by Reverend Clayton
Kuepfer at Zurich Mennonite Church, Zurich. Mary Ellen is the
daughter of Clayton and Shirley Steckle, RR 1 Zurich and
Gerald is the son of Dick and Annie Zielman, RR 2 Dashwood.
Maid of honour was Darlene Steckle, sister of the bride,
bridesmaids were Ruth Zielman, sister of the groom and
Sherry Steckle, sister of the bride. Flowergirls were Heather
Steckle, sister of the bride and Angela Zielman, sister of the
groom. The bestman was Siegfried Stadler, cousin of the
groom. Ushers were Erich Freiter and Craig Janzen, both
cousins of the groom. After a honeymoon throughout
northeastern Ontario, the couple will be residing at RR 2
Dashwood.

A bus full from St Boniface
and St. Peter's Catholic
CWL parishes went to St.
Mary's Shrine on Monday
which they found was very
nice.
Dr. and Mrs. Charles
Wallace attended the wed-
ding of their son, Andrew, to
Venise Lavergne on Satur-
day July 11 at Deep River in
Northern Ontario. Several
friends from Zurich area
were also present for the
celebration.
Miss Debbie Horner
returned home on July 8,
after spending a week's holi-
day in St. Paul's Alberta
with cousins, Wayne and
Helen Horner. While there
she also saw Edgar and Ruth
Willert.
Congratulations to Mrs.
Myrtle Deitz who celebrated
her 80th birthday on Sunday
along with her sister
Mildred, of Dearborn
Heights who was 70.
The two were honoured at
a family picnic at the home
of Mrs. Deitz's daughter,
