The goal of the Ontario
Association for the Mentally
Retarded is "that retarded
people live in a state of
dignity, share in all elements
of living in the -community
and -have the opportunity to
participate effectively.".
In order to attain this goal,
the South Huron and District
Association for the Mentally
Handicapped sponsors the
following services: Huron
Hope Nursery, ARC
Industries. South T-i»rnn
Association's services and
on the prevention of mental
retardation.
Four athletes from ARC
Industries are busy training
for the Canadian Special
Olympics on July 16 in
Ottawa.
The Association's Annual
meeting was held at South
Huron Recreation Centre on
June 17. At this meeting, 47
International Year of
Disabled Person's Logo pins

NURSING GRAD — Donna
Myra- Stewart, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Stewart.
RR 1 Hensall, graduated
from Fanshawe College, Vic-
toria Campus, Monday, June
29. She has joined the nur-
sing staff at Victoria
Hospital, London. She was a
'former candy striper at South
)Huron Hospital having. com-
pleted 500 hours of service.

Corbett and Ross Veal. Mrs.
Florence greeted everyone
at the front door.
For the next two Sundays,
July 12 and 19, there will be
no service at the United
Church while the minister is
away on holidays. The
congregation will join with
the Presbyterians in Carmel
Church at 10:15 each Sunday
morning.

Mrs. Joyce Pepper was at

began with a hymn sing. The
children's talk was about not
being afraid to pray.
Greeting at the front door
was Mrs. Florence Slade and
ushers were Steve Corbett
and Ross Veal.
Our thanks to the various
committees and helpers who
looked after preparing,
serving and clearing up the
meal, and to all who
arranged and conducted the
sports.
Personals
Mr. Charles Mickle,
Hamilton spent a few days
last week visiting with his
mother Mrs. Laird Mickle.
Mrs. Bertha MacGregor
returned home after a
pleasant visit with Mr. and
Mrs. Don MacLaren,Jodi and
Brooke, in Oakville.
Mr. Ernie Davis who has
been a patient in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, returned
to his home.
