Golden Glimpses
This week Zurich is
celebrating its 125th an-
niversary!
No doubt there will be a
number of visitors who have
come to town to celebrate
this event and who have
family or friends residing in
the rest home. We invited
anyone to come and visit
with the residents here or
just)ave a tour of the home
any afternoon or evening.
Last Tuesday afternoon
some of our residents en-
joyed a bus ride along the
lake and back by way of No.
4 Highway.
Our residents enjoyed a
piano and organ recital by
the music students of Mrs.
Lenore Turkheim on Thurs-
day evening. Following the
program refreshments were
served and a social time en-
joyed.
We welcome Mr. Clarence
V. Pickard of Exeter as a
new resident.
All members of the Blue
Water Rest Home Auxiliary
are reminded of their July
meeting to be held on Tues-
day evening, July 7 at 8 p.m.
here at the home. This will
be a business meeting for
the purpose of organizing for
the Zurich $ean Festival ac-
tivities to be held on August
22. We hope all members and
interested people will be
present to help organize for
this big event.
We also want to extend a
thank you to all the
members of the auxiliary
who gave up their Sunday
afternoon to assist in the
kitchen and dining` room
helping to serve the large -
number of Father's Day
guests for our family dinner.
We hope that the public
will make a point of suppor-
ting our auxiliary on oc-
casions such as, the Bean
Festival. The proceeds from
these events goles to provide
added comforts for the
residents. The sympathy of
residents and staff is extend-
ed to the family of the late
Alex Mousseau.
Bingo was played on Fri-
day evening followed by
refreshments.
The Sunday evening
chapel service was con-
ducted by Rev. Stan
MacDonald of Hensall
United Church. Mrs. Bill
Fuss presided at the organ.
