Communion celebrated at
Zurich United Church
The sacrament of Holy
Communion was observed
on Sunday morning.
In preparation for the
communion Rev. Laing's
message was based on the
theme "Forgiveness." Her
thoughts centred on 1. recon-
ciliation, 2. conpassion, 3.
temptation and finally 4.
revelation.

men in charge of the service.
Eugene Fox guest speaker.
July 5, '11 a.m. - Zurich's
125th anniversary Communi-
ty service in the community
centre Zurich. Speaker will
be Rev. Don Mannell of Lon-
don.
July 12, 19, 26 - Peter Snell
in charge of these services.
Aug. 9 - Following mor-
ning service there will be a3
fellowship hour to honor
Neta Oesch who will be
retiring. Neta has served the
church faithfully as organist
and choir leader for over 30
years.

Antique fashions featured
on anniversary Thursday
"Red haired, robust and the master of ceremonies
friendly," was how for the Zurich and area
Chatelaine magazine figure skating club's an-
descri bed Angela Armitt, niverary fashion show.
1950s BRIDESMAID — Donna Hoffman models a dress from
an 1950s wedding party. This dress is one of many which will
be shown at the anniversary fashion show and wine and
cheese party, Thursday July 2.
Armitt is the retired dean
of part time studies from the
University Ontario. She had
has just completes a three-
year term on the board of
directors of the Institute of
Canadian Bankers and is a
noted Canadian speaker.
Ms. Armitt is a member of
the board of directors of the
Huron County Playhouse,
Grand Bend,anda park at the
university is to be named
after her.
The fashion show is en-
titled "The way we were"
and features antique
clothing from Zurich's past.
It will be held in the com-
munity centre arena,
beginning at 8 p.m. Thur-
sday,July 2, as part of the
village's 125th anniversary
celebration.
Wine and cheese will be
available at the show. Tickets
are $4.50 for adults, ;2 for
children, and organizers
note, wine will be available.
