U.C.W. visiltarnbton museum
Twenty-five ladies of the
U.C.W. spent last Tuesday
afternoon touring the
Lambton County Museum
(near Grand Bend) which

they found was very in-
teresting. Then they enjoyed
going over to the cottage of
Mrs. Dot Hess.
Hensa l l Fair
Several from town at-
tended the Hensall fair last
Tuesday (June 9) . Heather
who helped work in a
hamburg booth for the
Junior Farmers was even
lucky enough to win "20" T-
bone steaks from a draw.
Flowers of Hope
Captain, Dorothy Steckle
for the Flowers of Hope
campaign that was recently
held in Zurich, has just
reported that all donations
are in. She was happy to
report a total of $832.55 was
collected. She would also like
to thank all those who
canvassed and gave of their
time as well as to those who
contributed.
Guides go bowling
The Girl Guides enjoyed
an evening out with their
fathers last Thursday (or
uncles) as they all went
bowling for a few games.
Count the cartridges
The lucky winners of
Scheaffer Pens from a
contest at Heimrich's store
last week for "Count the
Cartridges" in a glass jar
were:
First prize. Steve Francis,
Kirkton who guessed (260);
Second, Cecilia Farwell
(265) and Third, Doug Oesch,
Zurich (272). The correct
number was 259 cartridges.
Personals
A family retirement party
was had for Avilla (Bill)
Ducharme RR 2 Zurich on
Friday along with former
workers of the water -works
plant on No. 21 highway.
Everyone enjoyed a roast
beef dinner and evening at
the Dominion Tavern,
Zurich.
On Saturday Bill and
Blanche Ducharme along
with Ron and Diane and
Freddie and Charlene
Ducharme all motored to
Windsor and attended the
wedding of their niece and
cousin Bonita, daughter of
Blaise and Joyce Ducharme.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred
Corriveau spent 10 days in
Detroit visiting with
relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Jules
Corriveau in Bloomfield
Hills, and a brother Fabian
Corriveau, who is a resident
in River -Gate Terrace
Home, Michigan. They also
spent a few days with their
daughter, Beverley and
Horse and
Pony Club
On May 24, the Zurich
Horse and Pony Club was
held at Kathy and Maryann
Kenney's house.
The president, Sharon
Thiel opened the meeting
with 4-1-1 pledge and roll call.
Sharon read the minutes of
the last meeting.
We went through the
fundamentals of Con-
firmation and horse judging.
We talked about the trail ride
and play for the talent show.
The next meeting will be
held at Sharon Moriarty's
June 11 at 7 p.m.
family in Lake Orion and
while there attended a high
school band'isoP ert in which
their granddaughter,
Michelle took part, playing
the flute.
Sister Lauretta Farwell of
Caledonia recently spent the
weekend visiting with her
sisters, Helene and Bill
Regier, Mt. Carmel and Mrs.
Marcella Dietrich, Zurich.
She also visited a brother,
Mr. Clarence Farwell of- the
MapleWoods Apartments.
All helped Marcella
celebrate her birthday.
Jackie Bedard and Carrie
Sweeney were among those
who enjoyed a school trip
(the theatre arts class) to
Niagara -on -the -Lake last
Wednesday.
Judy McDonald and son
Danny of Detroit, are
visiting with her parents,
Shim and Anne Willert and
helping out her mom, who is
home from •being in the
Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Far-
well, attended the Con-
vocation at University of
Toronto, on June 9 where
their son, Donald, received
his Masters of Education
degree.
Tap and jazz pupils of
Michelle Haberer put on a
recital last week at the arena
to demonstrate to their
parents and friends what
they have learned since
taking lessons.
Please pray for the speedy
recovery of my husband,
Jerome who was a patient in
University Hospital, London
since Wednesday due to a
unfortunate accident he had
at work. Asa result he has a
broken back (fractured a
vertebrae) and will probably
be spending at least six
weeks in the hospital. He was
transferred to Exeter
Hospital on Tuesday.
Congratulations to Albert
and Irene Clausius who
celebrated their 40th wed-
ding anniversary on Sunday
with a delicious turkey
dinner at the Dominion
Tavern.
It was followed by an
Open -House at their home
for friends and relatives
which was all arranged by
their four children. -

several beautiful gifts and
even had company from
Indiana to help celebrate the
occasion.
Maurice and Mary
DeWaele of - Leamington
spent from Sunday to
Monday with relatives,
Claude and Madeline
Gelinas and visited with
friends,. Mr. and Mrs.
Ed Gascho at their cottage.
Jerome Watson, RR 3
Zurich spent a few days in
the Hospital last week
returning home on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Watson
spent three days in Detroit
this past week visiting with
relatives.
Best wishes for a speedy
recovery are extended to Mr.
Wayne Overholt, RR 2,
Zurich who got his leg
caught in a power take off at
his farm last week end and is
now home in a cast from the
hip to his toes.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Geoffrey
are happy to announce the
arrival of their 12th grand-
child a girl who was born on
June 4 to proud parents,
Darlene and Doug Fink-
beiner, Crediton.
