Several mothers, grandmothers, friends (even a few dads) were on hand to watch the youngsters cutely model their brightly coloured fashions. Each received a helium balloon afterwards. Commentator; Judy Savoy of London, delighted the audience with her humor, while Dave Sheppard, Grand Bend supplied the talented back ground piano music. Zurich Carmel Smeeinea The older girls of the skating club served coffee and squares throughout the program, which was really enjoyed by all those present. Guides meet The girl guides held their weekly meeting at the Lutheran Church last Wednesday. A special at- traction was going to Ferguon Apiaries, near Hensall for a tour and seeing a film, of how bees make honey. Each girl received a free jar of honey to take home with them. Next on the agenda is a mother and daughter pot luck supper on June 2 at 6:30. On Wednesday June 3, the girls will he going to the Pinery Provincial Park, near Grand Bend for the day and each one is to bring along their lunch. Personals Mrs. Lucy Belanger, Diane Marier and Mark Nou- vion all of Windsor, spent the Victoria holiday weekend with Jim and Mark Love and girls. They also visited with relatives in Goderich and Dashwood. These are still a few seats available for the Rex Hum - bard, Akron, Ohio, trip that is leaving this Saturday May 23 and returning on Sunday May 24. Congratulations to bride and groom Judy Ducharme and Frank Van Aaken who were married on Friday night at St. Boniface church, with dinner and open recep- tion at the Hensall communi- ty centre. Judy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mathew Ducharme Zurich and Frank is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Van Haken, RR 3, Bayfield. The couple will be living in the former home of Mr. and Mrs. Remi Denomme on Mary Street. Congratulations to Gary and Ann Denomme (nee Snell) who were married on Saturday at St. Peters Church, St. Joseph. Their reception and dinner was held at the rec centre in Ex- eter. Gary is the son of Marie and Tony Denomme RR 2, Zurich. Jane Oesch and Carrie Sweeney spent the holiday weekend at a youth camp in Stayner (near Collingwood) and reported having a lot of fun. Clarence Geoffrey was a patient in Victoria Hospital last week returning home on Sunday. Richard and Joan Bedard of Toronto spent the weekend with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Bedard. Village clerks, Sharon Baker and Betty Oke attend- ed a municipal clerks and treasurers meeting in Hanover last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Less Usherwood of Toronto and 3 children spent the long weekend at their cottage north of St. Joseph. (Across from the Catholic Church) . Congratulations are also in order to new parents; Marie and David Gelinas who had a boy on Monday May 18 at St. Joseph's Hospital (weighing 7 lbs.) This being the couples third boy. Mathew David is a grandson for Mr. and Mrs. Claude Gelinas. And to Dr. Grant and Nan- cy Lee on the arrival of a baby girl (Veronica) who was born on Thursday May 14 at St. Joseph's Hospital weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz. A lovely wedding on Satur- day was held for Mike and Nancy Clarke (nee Graham) at the Anglican Church in Bayfield with dinner and reception held in Bayfield also. Mike is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Clarke, RR 3 Zurich. Mr. and Mrs. Harry McAdams, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Doyle, Annie Finkbeiner, Lydia Regier and Eileen Consitt all en- joyed a three day bus tour from Tuesday to Thursday of last week going to the Tulip festival in Holland Michigan. Our sympathy is extended to the family of Genevieve Masse, Grand Bend who passed away suddenly on Sunday (especially to her husband Pete and children.) Mrs. Blanche Bechard returned home Friday from a lovely 21 day Fettes bus trip to such places as GOOD EVIiNING ZURICH — Judy Savoy of CJBK's Good Morning London radio show was commentator tor the Zurich and Area Figure Skating Club's fashion show. Shown here are models Jamie and Jodie McGee. The show was held Friday at the Zurich Public School. California, Arizona, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Reno. She visited several other places that she found were very nice, but was hap- py to be back again - safe but tired! Sunday dinner guest with Blanche at the Maple Woods Apts., were her , daughter, Darlene and Susan Stumps and friend, also grandson Kelly all of Kitchener. Along with a brother, Clemence and wife Mary Geffrey, Cen- tralia. Mr. Calvin Fahrner of Mississauga, spent the holi- day weekend with his mother, Mrs. Emmery Fahrner, at her Blue Water Rest Home Apt. Saturday afternoon Mrs. Fahrner, her sister. Mrs. Clara Ratz of Shipka, . and her daughter Mrs. Margaret Smith of London, accom- panied Calvin to Toronto. At the Kam Keek Yuen Restaurant a surprise birth- day party was held to celebrate his mother's 82nd birthday. To greet them were four couples from Kitchener, namely Meria and Lloyd Lougheed, Lorna and Alf Werner, Joyce and Gerry Thompson, Marg and Bruce Scheifle. The delicious dinner ended with the serving of a large cake, beautifully decorated with one large rose. Miss Cinday Tsui, whose father is owner of the restaurant and who is employed by the Ontario Ministry of Northern Af- fairs, where Calvin also is employed, was hostess for this gala event. After dinner, all attended the sixth and final Hustler Show presentation put on at the Ryerson Theatre by the Hustler Young Men's Bible Class. The show, of which Calvin has been a member for the last nine years, is a heart-warming, family musical review. All proceeds from the Annual Show are designated to various charities. To top off an enjoyable weekend, on Sunday, Mrs. Fahrner and Calvin, after attending the Chapel service at Blue Water Rest Home, enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Zurich Hotel. Youth car wash St. Peters Lutheran Youth group will be having a car wash to raise money on Saturday May 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Zurich fire hall. The best way to cure your wife of nervousness is to tell her it's caused by advancing age.
