1981 dog tags
The 1961 dog tags are now
available at the municipal
office, rates are $4.00 for
first male or spayed female,
$8.00 for the second. The
first female dog is $8.00 and
second is $12.00. Anyone not
getting the licence for their
pets before May 15
(deadline) have to pay
double!
Skating banquet
The figure skating club's
banquet will be held on Tues-
day May 5 at the Town Hall.
Tickets are now available at
$3. children, and $5. adults
(contact Alma Westlake).

C.W.L. April meeting
St. Boniface C.W.L. held
their April meeting in the
schoolm on Tuesday
evening. Two delegates will
be attending the convention
in Chatham on May 5 and 6.
Guest speaker was Jim
Hoffman of Dashwood who
spoke on first aid and show-
ed a film that was in -
teres ting
n-teresting and very
educational.
Easter Seal collection
The Lions Club are once
again sponsoring the collec-
tion for the Easter Seal
Fund. Donations can be sent
to Doug Ert
Congratulations to Bernie
Denomme RR 2 Zurich who
was recently named the
Farmer of the Week, and top
egg producer. He operates
425 acres of land along
Highway 21. His wife
Annette and three sons also
help with the chores and
collecting the eggs.
Paper pick-up
Be sure to put your papers
out for the Torch Bearers
club to pick them up on
Thursday April 30 at 6:30, as
they will do from now on, the
last Thursday of every
month.

There will not be a Zurich
column (mine) in next
week's paper, as Renee and
I will be spending two weeks
vacation in Windsor and
Detroit visiting with
relatives.
Visit puppet show
Pupils of grades 1 to 3 at
St. Boniface school enjoyed
going to see the puppet
show, Hansel and Gretel In
Exeter on Tuesday, April 14.

Farewell to Milford and
Elsie Doerr who moved
away to Stratford on Tues-
day.
Best wishes for a speedy
recovery are extended to
Earl Flaxbard who is a
patient in St. Joseph's
hospital.
Weekend visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Gerald Regier
were their daughter Valerie,
and son-in-law John Van
Oosterhout and two children
of Essex.
Kathy and Jeff Mizen of
Goderich spent last week
with their grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Howard
Finkbeiner while their mom
and dad enjoyed a trip they
won to Florida.
A family gathering was
held at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Mozart Gelinas Sr. on
Sunday to celebrate Easter,
and the baptism of little
Chantel Annette Gelinas,
-daughter of Moz and Julie
Gelinas Jr. God -parents are:
Cathy and Mark Kelly of
North Bay.
Relatives attended from
such places as the London,
Kippen and Zurich areas.
(approx. 30 in all). A
delicious smorgasbord meal
of turkey and ham with all
the trimmings was enjoyed
by all.
Nap and Laurene
Corriveau are happy to an-
nounce the arrival of their
grandson born on Thursday
April 16 to proud parents,
June and Ron Corriveau of
Goderich. This being the
couples second boy.
Mr. and Mrs. Lionel
Beauchamp and family of
Pembroke visited with their
son and daughter-in-law,
Don and Elaine Beauchamp
and three children for the
Easter holidays.

Gladys Schade who is a
patient in St. Joseph
Hospital.
Miss. Toni Pennings spent
a week at home and Easter
with her parents and family,
Harry and Wilma Pennings,
RR 1 Zurich, after being
away the past six months in
India helping with mis-
sionary work.
While in India Toni was
also able to visit with
Brother Bob Mittleholtz and
Mother Theresa in Calcutta,
with temperatures as high
as 105 degrees. She has now
returned to 'her job in
Penetang.
Stance and Vera Bedard of
Windsor spent the Easter
holidays visiting with
relatives in Goderich and
Zurich area.
Mrs. Ethel Regier was the
lucky winner of an oil pain-
ting (Madonna) done by
Jerome Sweeney. It raised
$153 to go toward paying for
the re -painting of statues at
St. Boniface church.
Mr. and Mrs. George
Harvey from Michigan spent
from Friday to Monday at
their cottage on the Blue
Water, north of. St. Joseph.
They were accompanied back
home by Carmel and Renee
Sweeney.
Little Aimee Hoffman
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Rick Hoffman was the lucky
winner of a large chocolate
Easter bunny from a draw at
Don's grocery store.
Those of the Mennonite
and Lutheran Churches held
a Sunrise service and
breakfast on Easter mor-
ning.
Mrs. Hogan of St. Thomas
spent a few days last week
with her daughter, Sister
Loretta Hogan at the con-
vent.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stephan
and family spent the holiday
in London.
Congratulations to all the
grade two children of St.
Boniface school who have
been making their first Holy
Communion this past month.
Marc and Cindy Gelinas
and two children of London
spent from Good Friday to
Easter Sunday at the home
of his parents, Mozart and
Marie Gelinas Sr.
Mr. and Mrs. Clair Zur-
brigg and family spent
several days with her
mother, Beatrice Rader of
the Maplewoods.
Mrs. Elizabeth Clegg has
returned to LaHabra
California after spending
several weeks with her
father, Harold Barry of
Maplewoods apartments.
Laura Gascho spent the
Easter holidays with her
family in London.
A bridal shower will be
held for Rose -Mary Duttman
of Hensall this Sunday at St.
Boniface school gym. She is
the fiance of Ivan Bedard
son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy
Bedard Sr. They are getting
married in June.
Catherine Burn of Streets
ville visited with her sister
and family, Joan and Harold
Smith,. over the holidays,
also Miss Donna Merner of
Toronto visited with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ar-
nold Merner.
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Flax -
bard and two children of
Kitchener were guests from
Friday to Monday with his
parents, Earl and Anne
Flaxbard and were joined by
the rest of the family for
EasterdinneronSunday, also
celebrating Jeff's third
birthday.
Mr. and Mrs. Lester
Denomme and family of
Alberta are presently stay-
ing with his mother, Mrs.
Florence Denomme for a
week's vacation also visiting
with other relatives.
