Committee reports and the financial report were -given showing a balance of ;66.69 to .start the new year. { Hensall Berths McGregor 1 The new officers were installed by the District Federation representative, Mrs. Gordon Bender from Hay P.O. Past president, Mrs. Carl Payne; president, Mrs. Cecil Pepper, vice-president, Mrs. Sam Rannie; secretary, Mrs. John Corbett; assistant secretary, Mrs. Pearl Koehler; treasurer, Mrs. John Skea; assistant treasurer, Mrs. Sam Ran- nie; district director, Mrs. Carl Payne; assistant district director, Mrs. Pearl Koehler; public relations, Mrs. John Corbett; Persona Is Mr. & Mrs. John Konynendyk of Woodstock were dinner guests on Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Sim Roobol. Mrs. Clarence Reid was the lucky winner of $1,000.00 in the North Lions Radio bingo, Wingham, last week. Mrs. Minnie Noakes spent the past weekend in London at the home of Mrs. Mabel (Fee) Ball. While in London, Mrs. Noakes attended a vocal recital by Miss Catharine Cooper of London at the University of Western Ontario. Mr. & Mrs. Norman Stanlake, Exeter, were recent visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Bert Thomson and family. Mr. & Mrs. Jack Corbett were guests at the 50th wedding of the latter's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Leslie Adams, Exeter held at the Pineridge Chalet on Saturday evening. Bill Shaddick, Mark and Michelle of Kitchener visited during the past week with the former's mother, Mrs. Pearl Shaddick, Tweedsmuir history, Mrs. Sam Rannie; branch directors, Mrs. Elizabeth Riley, Mrs. John Skea; press reporter, Mrs. Carl Payne; card convener, Mrs, Gladys Coleman; pianists, Mrs. Carl Payne, Mrs. Tom Sherritt. During the program a sing -song was enjoyed and readings on Spring were consumer affairs, Mrs. Norman Pepper; resolutions, Mrs. Gladys Coleman; auditors, Mrs. Len Purdy, appointed, Mrs. Nan Britton. After a new discussion, it was decided to rescind the motion passed at the last meeting to disband, and a president having been found the branch will remain open with a smaller membership. It is sincerely hoped that younger housewives in the community will join this very worthwhile organization. For in - given by Mrs. Cliff Britton: In the business session, it was decided to offer 65 copies of the "History of Hensall' to the senior grades of the public school. A gift committee of Mrs. John Skea, Mrs. Leona Parke and Mrs. Pearl Koehler was formed. Achievement night for the 4-H clubs will be held at the Exeter Public School at 7 p.m. on April 28. The meeting was con- ducted by the president, Mrs. Carl Payne who opened with a poem, "Help yourself to happiness" and closed with, "I know that my Redeemer Liveth". Pianist Mrs. Tom Sherritt. A contest was enjoyed at the close of the evening and the lunch was served by Mrs. John Skea, Mrs. Gladys Coleman and their committee. Next month, the 4-H girls and leaders will be en- tertained and a soup and sandwich supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. on May 13. We need new members, so come and join us then. Three Links seniors The Three Links senior citizens held their April meeting on Tuesday evening commencing with a pot luck supper, Which was well attended. Mrs. Bell presided for._ the .business meeting with Mrs. Alf Ross at the piano. The Spring Rally will be held at Vanastra on April 28 with registration from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Volunteers for cars were received. Members are to take a box lunch and prizes for Bingo at Huronview. The May meeting was reviewed. The entertainment committee, Mrs. Rannie and Bertha MacGregor directed Hensall women cancel penny sale The Hensall Ladies Legion Auxiliary met on Tuesday evening with Mrs Beatrice Uyl presiding. Mrs. Mona Davis, Zone Commander of Zone CI made her official visit and spoke to the members on "The Work of the Auxiliary". Mrs. Clarence presented her with a gift. Palm Sunday service Palm Sunday service was conducted at Hensall United Church by Rev. Stanley McDonald who spoke on, "If Christ came to Hensall". Two anthems were sung by the senior choir led by Director and Organist, Dr. Ralph Topp, "The Children's Friend" by W.H. Anderson and the "Song of Zechariah" by H.H. Hopson. Many floral displays beautified the sanctuary around the pulpit. in loving memory of Mary Connolly, placed there by her family and in memory of Charles Holdway of Texas, a friend of Stanley McDonald's. Also an Easter lily donated by the Chiselhurst congregation. Mrs. Kathy Mann greeted the congregation at the door and the ushers were Brad Buchanan and Ross Veal. Following the service a and was congregational meeting was held to discuss parking for the church. It was decided to gravel part of the church lot to provide off-street parking.
