Preliminary dances: Dutch Waltz, Kathy Schenk, Roxanne Overholt, Dawn Zurich Carmel Sweeney McAdams and Stephanie Peters. Canasta, Andrea Hendrick. Swing, Sonya Schantz and Beth Sweeney. Preliminary free skate: Kerry -Lynn Deitz, Cathy Brenner, Tracy Erb and Martha Klopp. Junior Bronze dances: Ten Fox, Martha Klopp. Willow, Cathy Brenner. First figures: Kerry -Lynn Deitz. Blue water auxiliary The April meeting of the rest home auxiliary was held Tuesday with the theme of Easter. Coloured eggs and Easter candies were handed out to everyone. Following the program and lunch, 20 members answered the roll call. Secretary, Ethel Myers, gave a very interesting report and minutes of the last meeting. It was passed that the president, Martha Ducharme and member, Lydia Regier, are to go the spring conference in Guelph on Wednesday April 23, along with Mr. Risi and some staff from the home in the van. Get well cards were signed by all for Verda Baechler and Mrs. Horn who were in the hospital. Conveners and helpers were chosen to help at the "Mother's Day Tea" that will take place on Saturday May 9 from 2-4 at the home. (So mark your calendars now to attend). Thanks to Blanche Bechard for making and donating coursages out of ribbon that will be pinned on all the female residents that day. Five ladies were asked to help serve tea, coffee and cookies on Sunday May3 for the official open -house of the new apartments at the home. That will be beginning at 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come. Ice Capades bus A nice time was had by all of us who went on the bus from Zurich to the Ice Capades in London on Saturday. After seeing the afternoon performance, we stopped at Scott's Chicken Villa to eat on the way home. Profitable bake sale A successful bake sale was had by the Guides and Brownies on Saturday as they cleared a profit of over ;100.00. In order to sell the rest of the baking the girls went around door to door! Cookie day is coming up at the beginning of May. Polka time Anyone interested in going to see Polka Time by bus on Sunday May 3 in Kitchener Waterloo (approx. $5.00 each) can contact Glen Doyle at 236-4088, soon. Rec hockey The Rec Hockey league celebrated the end of the season on Saturday with a delicious meal at the Dominion Tavern in Zurich. Scouts plant trees Boys from town who belong to the Grand Bend Boy -Scout pack are going around asking for sponsors; as they are planting 25 trees for Canada on April 25 in the area. Garage sale Don't forget to go to the garage sale this Saturday April 18 beginning at 10 a.m. to be held at Hogg's Service Station, St. Joseph's corner. All proceeds will go to the Zurich and area figure skating club. Personals Henry Mulandi from Kenya, Africa, recently a student at Rosedale Bible Institute in Ohio, gave a challenging message at the local Mennonite church on Sunday morning. Esther Steckle of Cleveland, Ohio spent several days at the home of her mother Mrs. Seleda Steckle and with other family members. Welcome back to Ursula and Gerald Regier who arrived home from Florida on Saturday. They were away since the end of December at the Sand and Sea Village on Boynton Beach. Also Curtis and Mary Gingerich arrived home Sunday, after being gone for three months. They stayed at Sunny Breeze Harbor (Arcadia) in Florida. Congratulations to Julie and Doug Debus on the arrival of their second child, a boy, born on April 10 in South Huron Hospital. A grandson for Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rau (Dari) and Mr. Leonard Debus. A lovely bridal shower was had for Cathy Stock of Stratford on Sunday (Fiance of Ron Meidinger son of Mr. & Mrs. Steve Meidinger) held at St. Boniface school gym. Several friends and relatives attended. Cathy received beautiful gifts and all enjoyed a delicious lunch. Mr. & Mrs. Isidore Laporte, Mr. & Mrs. Norm 44 • Koehler, Mr. & Mrs. Kevin McKinnon, Mr. & Mrs. Pat Bedard, Mr. & Mrs. Richard Erb, Mr. & Mrs. Don Oke, and Mr. & Mrs. Bob Evans all attended the Lions club convention in Kitchener from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. It was held at the Valhalla Inn. Congratulations to Greg and Jean Fleming of Mt. Carmel who celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Saturday April 11, with Mass a Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church. The dinner and reception was in Dashwood at the community centre. Guests attended from various places, with relatives from Zurich being: her mother, Mrs. Theresa Hartman, and a sister, Cecelia and Louis Farwell. Verda Baechler has returned home from Exeter Hospital and Mr. Leeland Willert (Shim) has returned home from being a paitent in St. Joseph's Hospital, London We wish them both our best. EGGMOBILE RACES — Teacher Bob Redick looks on as Tanya Forrester and Sherri Steckle launch their egg carrying machine. The Zurich Public School students competed to see who could build an elastic band powered machine to carry an egg the farthest distance. RACE WINNERS — The winners of the eggmobile competition at Zurich Public School were: (from left) first, Terry Zehr; second, Sherri Steckle and Tanya Forrester; third was Steve Consit. The picture also shows some of the variety of the student's solution to the egg transportation problem.
