St. Boniface CWL meets for March
The March C.W.L.
meeting was opened by the
Director, Father P. Mooney
with the league prayer.
Helene Ducharme took roll
call with 32 members pre-
sent and also read the
minutes of the previous
meeting. Mrs. Joan Regier
read treasurer's report. The
correspondence secretary
read many letters.
The Goderich and District
Pro Life group is asking for
financial assistance to
purchase a kit and slide
presentation on a1..on to
be available for our five
country highschools.
Some ladies plan to attend
the Town and Country
Homemakers banquet and
annual meet to become
more informed of their
sevices. It's on March 25 at 7
p.m. at the new community
hall in Holmesville. Discuss-
ed will be volunteerism in
community service and
International Year of
Disabled.
The next Huron County
C.W.L. meeting for Billing's
Huron Centennial
School

Ten of the ladies attended
the auction and bake sale at
Mr. Carmel and members
were present at the World
Day of Prayer which was
very spiritually rewarding.
Get well cards and good
wishes are sent to the
hospitalized. Mrs. Josie
Dietrich, Mrs. Madeline
Gelinas and Mrs. Marie
Bedard.
The new resolution con-
vener, Mrs. Cecilia
Fargwell, stated that any
resolution that is made must
have facts and figures to
back it up.
Since it was St. Patrick's
Day, two prayeri of the Irish
were said. Our Right to Life
convener, Mrs. Mary Regier
read letters on the Year of
the Disabled and a reply
from parliament on the
Charter of Right to Life. A
very touching prayer, "How
to Show Love and
Understanding to the
Elderly" was read by Mrs.
Mary Mathonia and elec-
tives and twodayworkshop
was discussed and how it
was a very successful lear-
ning experience.
A big thanks to Mrs. Grace
Ducharme, who for the past
three years supplied us with
lovely baptismal souvenir
gowns. good luck to Mrs.
Mary Mathonia who plans to
take over the job.
We plan to donate finan-
cial assistance to a worthy
cause so that a spiritual and
educational film will be
bought and shown at En-
core.
The C.W.L. • are sending
two delegates to the 61st an-
nual diocesan convention
May 5 - 6. Mrs. Coby Van
denBoomen and Mrs. Grace
Ducharme plan to attend.
Some important
resolutions to be discussed
at convention were discuss-
ed and voted on. They are;
(1) Farm Land Ownership;
(20 Crisis Centres; (3)
Resthomes.
There also will be a scrap-
book on display at the con-
vention of our C.W. L. and
its works.
Some ladies plan to attend
a 6ingo on March 25 at St.
Peter's Parish at 8:30 p.ni.
The annual parish dance
will be on March 227 from 9
p.m. to 1 a.m. at the
Dashwood community cen-
tre. I hope all will try to at-
tend and support our C.W.L..
All tickets will be presold.
Single are $4 and couples are
$8. They are available at

Since it is the season of
Lent, the door prize money
made at the door will be sent
for the Peru missions. The
door prize was won by Annie
Van Raay.
A very interesting presen-
tation 'on crewel work was
given with many of the
talented members' works on
display. It was one of the
topics taken up during elec-
tives. The results were
beautiful.
The meeting was adjourn-
ed by Betty Grenier and was
closed with a Prayer to our
Lady of Good Counsel.
