Miss Marie Gelinas
celebrated her 103 birthday.
A fact finder appointed by
the education relations com-
mission recommended a
salary increase of 8.5 per-
cent for Huron County's
secondary school teachers.
MPP Jack Riddell told the
Zurich and district Chamber
of Commerce that while
Canada may be suffering

suffering' from ,an energy
crisis.

The village of Zurich
learned it may have to pay
for a portion of the park work
undertaken by the Ausable-
Bayfield Conservation
Authority.
After spending a sub-
stantial amount of money on
repairs and additions to the
bean festival kitchen, the
Bean Festival at their an-
nual meeting decided to hold
onto their profits.
Due to an increase in
rabid; across the county,
several rabies clinics in the
ar_ ea were planned.
The Zurich Lions Club
donated $1,100 towards the,
p!prchase of a cooler for the
auditorium portion of the
Zurich Arena.
