Lisa Bedard got a bronze Zurlch Carmel Sweeney medal for no test ladies. Kathy Merner and Sonya Shantz, gold medal in preliminary dance. Martha Klopp, was sixth in flight for no test ladies. Cathy Brenner, was fourth, Kerry - Lyn Deitz fifth and Tracy Erb seventh in their flight for preliminary free skate. While Debbie and Kerry -Lyn won third in their junior bronze dance. Well done girls! ! Pancake supper A successful pancake supper was held on Shrove Tuesday at the Lutheran church, which was served by the youth club. 87th birthday Well over a hundred relatives of Mrs. Myrtle Masse helped her celebrate her 87th birthday on Sunday (March 8) with a big party at the Dashwood community centre. In attendance were, children, grandchildren, in- laws, nieces and nephews and four great grand- children. All enjoyed a delicious meal catered by Birdie Finkbeiner and her group. Rest home auxiliary Twenty members and visitors were on hand for auxiliary meeting at the rest home Tuesday. Afters delightful Qrogram, Cecilia Farwell presented the past -president (Annie Finkbeiner) with a pin and thanjced her for doing such a good job for the past two years! A vote was taken and passed to purchase lawn furniture for the court yard. And to order 12 new artificial flower arrangements for the dining room tables from the Village Floral and Gift Shop. The ladies are setting up a telephone committee for the members (to enable everyone to be contacted in a hurry if need to be) . Quilt tit•kets were handed out, for the draw to be made at the Bean festival in August. Card party Six tables of cards were at play last Tuesday for the card party at St. Boniface. Winners from a ticket were Agnes Regier, a blanket and Beatrice Corriveau won a hair_ blower. Brownies meet The Brownies held their meeting at the Beauty Den where hair dresser, Bonnie #cheek demonstrated Hair and Care by cutting Sister Loretta 's hair (a leader). All girls received a large comb to take home. PUC convention Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Eckel, Mr. and Mrs. Isidore Laporte, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Thiel and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Fisher all attended the PUC convention from last Sunday to Wednesday in Toronto, held at the Royal York. Sauerkraut supper The Chamber of Com- merce meeting was in the form of a rural -urban night, Thursday at the Dominion Tavern, with dinner, films and a guest speaker. Plans are now underway for their annual Sauerkraut supperto be held at the arena on Wednesday April 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. tickets are $5.00 each. Be sure to make your calendars now ! Persona is Saturday and Sunday visitors with Lucienand Nora Corriveau at the Spruce Villa Apartments were thei son, Jerome Corriveau and family, London, Ray and Rebecca Geromette of St. _ Claire Shores Michigan and George and Jean Kochutt of Kitchener. Miss Ruth Church returned home last Monday after a months vacation in Ventura California' visiting with her brother, Bruce Church. BRONZE MEDAL — Lisa Bedard won the bronze medal in the special no test category in St. Thomas on Sunday. It was the H.O.M.E. council figure skating competition. She enjoyed her first trip there and. the plane ride. She mink ny nice places and different things of interest. Mrs. Howard Finkbeiner spent 11 days visiting with her step -mother in Florida at Haines City recently and enjoyed the plane ride and rest. Ross and Marg Johnston returned home last weekend after a two week holiday in Florida visiting with relatives, Ernie and Ruth Gemings and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Marwick.. Yvonne Hartman and children Lyn and Johnathon from Montreal spent last week in town. They visited with her mother, Mrs. Juliette Denomme and relatives after attending the funeral of her niece, Judy Denomme in Kitchener last Wednesday. Sunday dinner guests at the Sweeney home were Moz. and Julie Gelinas, Brian and. Aimee. All helping Renee Sweeney to celebrate her fourth birthday. Martin and Cheryl also dropped in for a piece of a cute decorated "Doll" cake that was made by Anne Flaxbard. Congratulations to Janine and Paul Masse on the arrival of their second child, a boy, born on Sunday March 1. He is a grandson for Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Dari) Rau and Mr. and Mrs. Elzar Masse. Gertie Fleischauer spent Saturday in London at the home of her daughter where they celebrated three bir- thdays within the last week. A party of 13 boys was held for 4 year old Andrew Rodgers. Elda Wagner and Verlyn Fisher returned home after a pleasant two week bus trip to Florida by Fettes Tours. Some of the interesting stops were at St. Peterburg, Silver Springs, Busch and Cypruss Gardens, Disney World, Cape Kennedy space centre and going to the dog races. They spent two days at White Hall Inn on Daytona Beach and were surprised to see friends there from Zurich. Joe and Rose Regier along with Don and Rose Mary Regier returned home last Wednesday from an exciting two week trip travelling to such places as Las Vegas, California and Mexico. Victor and Irene Hartman spent t*o weeks visiting with her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Girard in Haines City Florida. World day • A good attendance and representation from all the churches took part in the World Day of Prayer, Friday. St. Boniface CWL Six ladies from St. Boniface CWL went to an auction and craft show as guest of the Mt. Carmel CWL ladies in Mt. Carmel last Tuesday evening. Farm show A few people from town took in parts of the four-day farm show held at the Western Fair in London last week, displaying the newest farm machinery and equipment for 1981. Quilting bee An enjoyable time was had by all those who helped at the quilting bee last Monday for Women's Institute, complete with a pot luck supper.
