tension of the recreational
land designation which
would have permited the ex-
tension of the. Driftwood
Trailer Court. Council also
vetoed a seasonal camp
ground to be situated in a

tured the A trophy as cham-
pions of the Bluewater ladies
slo-pitch league.

Hay council gave their ap-
proval to the annexation • of
200 acres of township land by •
the village of Hensall.
The area's white -bean
crop was looking quite good
with over 70 percent of the
white bean crop in Huron
County harvested.
The Zurich Pontiacs cap-
tured the B title in the
Zurich rec league fastball
tournament.

An information session
held by the Huron County
Council for Action on
Alcohol and other Drugs
learned that alcohol was
considered to be more of a
problem in the county's
schools than drug abuse.
Ken Gerber Construcion of
Stratford submitted the low
bid of $38,583 for the
reconstruction of Mill and
Victoria Streets.
The Zurich branch of the
Hensall Co-op opened a new
lumber and building
materials yard.
The Zurich Eagles bested

Two objections to Hay
township's proposed secon-
dary plan were filedwiththe
Ontario Municipal Board.
Fire destroyed and badly
damaged two lake front cot-
tages north of Drysdale. The
damage totalled over $50,-
000.
No ratepayers showed up
at a ratepayers' meeting
held by the villhge of Zurich.
The Huron County Board
of Education finally
capitulated and said they
would bus students in the
area of Hay township which
the village of Hensall plans
to annex.

township announced that he
would not seek - re-election.
Growers of the white bean
in Huron county experienced
a bumper crop with excep-
tional prices.
