Golden Glimpses
It looks as though we
shouldn't hold our breath for
spring-like weather, by all
reports we may be well
snowed in the latter part of
this week.
Films were shown as usual
on Monday evening followed
by refreshments. We are
pleased that a larger
number of our Residents are
showing an interest in the
movies.
On Tuesday evening, the
Ladies Auxiliary braved the
elements for a Valentine's
party for our residents.
Three young ladies, Anne
Deichert, Sharon Thiel and
Robin Rader sang and ac-
companied themselves on
their ukuleles. Kelly
Schroeder and Roxanne
Martin both played piano
solos. Mrs. Annie Finkbeiner
favoured with a reading and
Mrs. Julie Debus sang and
accompanied herself on the
guitar. Following the
programme, coffee and cup-
cakes were served.
The wintry weather has
prevented our Residents
from enjoying outings unless
it is a necessity.
Bingo was played on Fri-
day evening followed by
refreshments.
The Sunday evening
chapel service was con-
ducted by Rev. Clayton
Kuepfer of the Zurich Men-
nonite church. Mrs. Grace
Martin presided at the organ
during the service. A ladies
quartette consisting of
Helen Gingerich, Della
Gascho, Esther Gingerich
and Ruth Gingerich
favoured with two numbers.
A flute solo was also en-
joyed. Many favourable
remarks were made by
Residents attending the ser-
vice on the fine musical
presentations
