The Zurich Buckettes tied
Kurtzville on Jan.- 17 at 6-6 in
a ringette game.
The Buckettes led 4-2 at
the end of the first 20
minutes. In the last period,
they were out -scored four
goals to two.
Julie Miller scored the
first of her ;two goals just 40
seconds into the first period,
Joanne McKinley assisting.
Kurtzville tied the score five
minutes later on a goal by
Jan McCracken.
The next three goals were
scored by Zurich. The first
by Beth Gelinas, assisted by
Vicki Bedard. Joanne
McKinley scored on a pass
from Julie Miller. Julie
Miller then scored on a pass
from Joanne McKinley at the
16:31 mark. Kurtzville cut
the margin to 4-2 less than a
minute later on a goal by Jan
McCracken.
In the final 20 minutes,
Vicki Bedard scored two
goals, both assisted by
Theresa Deitrich, but it
wasn't enough, because Jan
McCracken scored four
times ., the tying goal coming
with just 2:37 left in the
game.
There were six penalties
handed out, three going to
each team.
On Jan. 18, Zurich played
at home and lost to Howick
by a score of 8-1.
Vicki Bedard scored the
lone Zurich goal at the 6:39
mark of the first period.
