three this week
The Zurich bantams
scored a 7-5 victory over
Elma-Logan on Wednesday.

Zurich went ahead in the
first period by a•2.0 score. At
the end of the second period,
`the score was tied •at four
apiece. They out skated the
opposition by a margin of
three goals to one in the final
period. lThe big shooters for
Zurich were Dean Arm-
strong with three, Derreck
McKinnon with two and
Bryan Kading and Mark
Boogemans with one each.
On Saturday, Zurich
blanked Huron Park by an 8-
0 score. The game was
played in Huron Park. There
were 19 penalties called in
the game, 11 going to Huron
Park and eight going to
Zurich. Goal -scorers for

Zurich were Dean Arm-

Sunday night the Zurich
team won again, this time
beating Hensall 10-3. Zurich
led 2-1 after one period and 7-
2 after the second. The
Zurich goal -scorers. were
Dean Armstitong with four,
Bryan Kading with two, and
Derreck McKinnon, Rick
Kuepfer 'and Gerry Smith
each had singles.
Jeff Laporte and Karm
Bedard shared the goal-
tending in all three games.
Ian Munroe and John
O'Brien scored for Hensall.
Atom "B"s lose
The Zurich Atom "B"
team lost to the Goderich
team by a 3-1 score. It was a
well played game In com-
parison with the game
played three weeks ago,
which Zurich lost 16-0. Mike
Taylor scored the only
Zurich goal.
Rec Blues reach tourney
"A" final
The Zurich Blues, of the
Rec league, did very well in
a tournament that was held
in Thedford on the weekend.
They out -scored Kettle Point
9-8 in their opening game
and doubled the score on
Pfaff Electric, 6-3.
The big game was played
against Watford, for the
championship. Watford won
by a score of 7-4.
The Blues play in another
tournament on January 23 to
25 in Exeter. The first game
will have the Blues playing
the Exeter_ Stars at 11 a.m.
Their second game's star-
ting time depends on the out-
come of that game.
Zurich hockey
exchange
Three hockey teams from
Garden City, Michigan, are
coming to play in Zurich on
January 24 and 25.
The games on Saturday
start at 3:15 when the
novices will play against
Hensall and the Atom "B"
team play against Hensall at
4:30. The first Garden City
game starts at 5:45 when the
atoms play the Garden City
atoms. The Peewees play at
7 p.m. and the starting time
for the bantam game is 8:30
p.m.
The action resumes on
Sunday at 11 a.m., when the
atoms play again. The
Peewees' game starts at
12;15 p.m. and the bantam
game at 1:45.
Minor hockey is planning
to use this weekend to
celebrate the 125th birthday.
There are no special events
planned, except opening
ceremonies and a get-
together for the parents of
the hockey teams, said Paul
Morrison.
He said that this was about
the only weekend that minor
hockey could celebrate the
birthday. They will not be
able to in the summer when
all the other activities are
going on.

front seat, out of the way but
